Additional boost is an indirect product of additional fuel.

I would like other peoples opinions on this please
Your map should account for varying IATs, that's all I'm saying. You're not even using the OEM BCS so the ECU hasn't got a cat's chance has it.

R U sure the wastegate was held open when disconnected ?
It seems to be generating alot of boost that would/should be pissing out the wastegate if open.
What downpipe are you running, is it an open kneck ?

There must be 100's of people out there with FMIC, Headers and a TD05 that havn't had ths issue.

I recently mapped a TD05-18g, Tubular headers and X-Mods FMIC and it wasn't a problem.

In my case I used:

TD05-18G
FMIC 600*400*100
ported exhaust headers
3" exhaust without cat

I think the difference is in the intake system I use a big bore 70mm pipe very unrestricted.

here are my measurements:

without porting:

now without porting and wastegate disconnected and tied open.

pic of porting, also the wastegate hole was opened up a little:

pic of wastegate hole porting:

I have the problems with the OEM BCS connected. Just dis-connected it to try and eliminate things

scott.T - Yes im sure the wastegate was completely open.
Im running a Japspeed downpipe which i believe to be open neck. I.e it's got a bell shape mouth on it and theres no material between the exhaust outlet and wastegate.
Out of interested what boost did you map the 18G to?

Initially 1.1bar then 1.2bar and finally 1.35bar.
All using the 2-port boost solenoid which is worse at controling boost then the 3-port that you have, at levels above 1.2bar.

All on a TD05-18G, FMIC, headers, decat and 550cc injectors

sounds to me it is.
It can't be a TD04, because it is not able to flow that much at max rpm.
but could also be one of the VF turbo's which also tend to have boost creep.
take a good look at the turbo and you should be able to tell the difference.
try some compairing with the pic's in "View My scooby"

Thanks for the reply SL1000 - I know it's a TD05. But i've seen TD05-16G 18G etc. And wasn't sure what type mine was.

Standard TD05 is equivelent to a TD05-16G
18G is an upgrade and IIRC a combination of a 16g and a 20G.

Also there are different TD05-18G's
popular ones are from forced performance or deadbolt
the latter one uses it's own compressor housing and might just be slightly better but both are good and are being offered by multiple tuners.
then there is also some small variation between compressor wheels.
So all is all TD05-18G is more of a family name than an exact description.

best way to get an idea which one you have is check compressor housing and check compressor wheel. and compair with above pic's. that one is from forced performance BTW. Take a look on :
AndyForrestPerformance
for some pics of deadbolts stuff.
or there own site:
