Group Buy on FMIC for Newage & Classic (hybrid GT spec)
Dan : On the hard pipe to the throttlebody there is a spiggot (tube) just to take a BOV. The type of BOV intended is the STi 4 free standing type such as forge.
You can re-use your own BOV that bolts on to your top mount by the use of an adaptor. I have these adaptors for £20 odd if you are stuck.

could be interested thinking of getting a new turbo and induction kit to take my Hawkeye WRX up to 350 would there be any advantages or disadvantages to fitting one of these over a STI top mount ???
does this kit come in the polished effect like the picture. Also what comes with the kit. intercooler/pipes/silocone hose joins? and u must buy a induction kit as the pipe work runs through the inner wing also does this kit require any cutting to the bumper or inner wing, basicly does it fit with no messing about.
im interested in 1 for my classic type R
Cheers Nicky

F1_CJE_UK: Opinions vary on this, but a STi TMIC should be okay at that sort of level. I would be looking at changing it for 400bhp+ targets.
That said, FMIC don't suffer from heatsoak and will be safer for high speed runs, where the TMIC is limited by the amount of air that gets to it via the scoop. The Hybrid FMIC kit also looks very
and is great value for money
Nicky: Yes, the pipework really does look as good as pics. I must admit I was really quite surprised by the quality of the kits. You get the intercooler, pipes, 3 layer silicon race hose joints, Hybrid super race stainless steel hose clamps and brackets
It will require some cutting of the inner wing and bumper. Lots of fitting guides here on SN and you will also be sent instructions.

GC8, 96 - 00 is a perfect fit. Pre'-96 the pipe needs to be modified/shortened to the hot pipe. Includes everything you need except d/v.

Hi folks,
on the pic of the new age with the kit fitted, is the core mounted lower than usual ?? Just looked too low in my eyes, almost as if they did not want to cut the bumper about a little.
Also if fitted with the following what sort of bhp will it run ?
vf34
sti pink inj
fuel pressure reg
cold air induction
full decat
equal length headers
quality remap lol
cheers

Hi Tony,
I would expect mid 300s on that spec, with a healthy engine
The FMIC can be made to fit quite snugly and their are slight variations in the JDM vs UK bumper support beams.

Just to let any interested parties know - I recently fitted one of these hybrid FMIC's to my MY97 classic.
VF35
2.5" de-cat
ported headers
440's
Power FC
and a few other supporting mods.
I used an AVCR too, so I could set up in gear boost to compensate for any lag created by the FMIC.
Car made around 340bhp when mapped by Andy F.
But more importantly the car pulls through the gears and there is no difference in lag between the FMIC and the TMIC.
Oh... and it looks great.
All in all a very good piece of kit. Most impressed

Just got one of these myself. The quality looks very good indeed (albeit to my untrained eyes)
Several big names on here will atest to how well they work too.
