Cyprus is the hotest place but Le Mans felt hotter due to no air-con or shade or anything other than warm (and I mean cup of tea warm) beer to 'cool' me down.

+47 in sharm el sheikh in july this year, -40 loads of times in the forests around Rovaniemi, Finland (lowest i've ever seen was -45 on the thermometer, but not sure how accurate that was).
Driving is really interesting when it's (really) cold. The packed snow / ice on the roads is so cold that it's not that slippery any more, and sometimes I've had problems with the clutch freezing so that it has to be lifted up with the foot (every gear change, which becomes a bit annoying after the first 100m).
I find breathing becomes rather difficult, as the air is so dry and cold that every breath hurts. Interestingly, it's entirely possible to go out and have a pee in a snow drift in your underpants for a minute or two without actually freezing (unless it's windy so you get snow blown on you)
Edit: I just had this flashback of my uncle jacking his car up in winter and lighting a small fire under the engine to get it started... it was some old audi 80 in the mid 80's.

Yes - I 've been cold up that way for the Arctic Rally.
Hottest - was 46 oC in Morocco in August and that was HOT, even for me.

Rerturned from Cuba Last week,mid thirties,all week.Also Thailand was Hot averaged 38 deg.
Turkey Last year was 40 deg for about 8 days.
I love the heat.

was in a place called pemberton in western Oz a few years ago and hit 46c. spent a few days in singapore on the way out there and the heat there nearly killed me! was not a dry heat. it was just so humid! i walked out the hotel and it felt like i hit a hot wet wall. walked around for about an hour and my tshirt was dripping wet
The coldest i've had it was -32c in moscow on a school trip.

1998, Rio, 51c !! it felt like our skin was being blow torched, too hot to do anything, even the white parts of the pavement were burning our feet..
I slept on the balcony because it was so hot to be awoken by a tropical thunderstorm at 03.00 in the morning soaking wet.

Went to aiya napa in 2001, temps peaked at 46c, so hot even the locals were moaning!!
Standing in the square at midnight, the big screen displayed a temp of 31c,AT MIDNIGHT!!!
Couldnt go smoewhere without aircon till late afternoon!

Another vote for Dubai.
Went on a lavish weekend away for the Wife's 30th Birthday (Burj al Arab etc etc). A very carefully planned and executed surprise.
Anyway, stepped out of the airport and my first thought was "This is a mistake! I'm going home!"
Was like opening an oven door. Air con saved us and the weekend though.

Another vote for Death Valley. Stopped off mid way to Las Vegas to look at some sand dunes. Got out of the air con'd car and it was like stepping into an oven, couldn't sit on or touch the surrounding rocks as they were so hot! In hindsight we should have taken a few bottles of water for the 3 hour journey, we didn't see another soul for the entire journey and had we broken down we would have dried up like a raisen in no time. Luckily we had a Japanese car so it didn't break down 
We arrived at a diner on edge Death Valley with a large outdoor thermometer (for the tourist!) and it read 120f (about 49C). This was 7pm in the evening! Must have been near 60c in the sun mid afternoon!

Sahara in Algeria in June, indicated 50+, was like walking into an oven.
Being a pasty individual, I was slathered in spf 60 and still felt like I was crisping up when going for lunch.

vegas was fecking hot last sept but it got worse, got helicopter to grand canyon nearly died when getting off it was high fourties.

Did a nile cruise in 2000, the thermometer couldnt cope, and was rammed to the stop most of the day, you couldnt walk on deck in bare feet!!
it was still hot at 1 in the morning
we were wearing t shirts and shorts all of the time.
the odd drop of rain we had evaporated in about 2 minutes flat
only good bit was 0% humididty so you didnt feel uncomfortable, just hot
like being in a giant convector oven all day long

Have lived in Dubai and Oman, but once on a trip to Doha Qatar, in mid year, there was an apparent "heatwave" according to the local press and the normal 50 plus C had risen that day to 55C!!! Went from my hotel across the road for an ice cream and it was like being in an oven literally!

Fortaleza in Brazil. Was over 40 deg C the whole time I was there. I think the hottest day was 46/47 deg C.
The coldest was South Georgia in the South Atlantic. Below -20 deg C, can't remember exactly. Although I was in Poland a couple of years ago and it was -17 deg C, but with the wind chill it was -35 deg C, it was actually painful to be out in it.
