Or discovered a wonderful thing called the interweb. You can shop without being battered by trollies and neurotic women.

Aside from ****, this the best thing to have ever come about on the net ... no more mingling with the goddamn awful general public!

As already said, if you think a type was bad, just wait til you drive the westie!

Thousands of people have been perfectly happy with the type r. Have you considered that it maybe you're driving skills letting the side down?
Not having a dig, just trying to warn you before you go from a fairly driver friendly car such as the type r, to the mad 'bite your head off when your not looking' westie.

I wouldn't describe the Type-R as friendly car. Now that I've owned a SEiW I can say it was the easier and more predictable car to drive. Plus it had more grip and a damn site more feedback!

Then you didnt do enough research to find out that you can even use lock in dry conditions though its not recommended for too long.

Lol at finding a type r too much of a handful, you weren't running winter tyres or some other ditch finders were you? I agree they are a different handling beast to the normal impreza and you were probably right about the engine reliability in classic sti's though.

What evo do you have? I've had a couple now and always miss the character of the impreza and end up back in one, I usually say to the mrs "next time I decide to sell the impreza for an evo, don't let me" The evo is a good car but the whole feel of the drive and steering just feels too light and over assisted for me.

Scotia White IV GSR with black-painted Evo VI alloys.

But with a fully built, forged VII engine. Running 365/398 (clutch slipping slightly on the dyno) on a Evo IX 20g tubby, mapped by Rich at RG Motorsport.

I had a few spare moments, like I do now. Just looking through my old posts.

What's all this troll business? Simply because I didn't favour my Type-R's handling traits and the fact that they're one of the worst models to suffer engine failure you choose to insult me in a childish manner. Most immature.

Fair enough, each to their own. I favour better grip out of tight corners than a hard to predict break away rear end.

I bought a IV. It was up for 4.5K with a freshly forged VII engine. Induction, exhaust and few other tasty mods such as IX turbo (20 G) were already fitted.

I'd of prefered a V or VI but at 4.5K, I couldn't refuse.

I will agree the steering is light and I do find the feedback to be lacking somewhat. But this I felt the same about on the Type-R too.

Nah, the tyres on the Impreza were S0 2 bridgestone's I recall.

I felt I couldn't trust the rear of my Impreza. On wet, or roads that were damp/greasy that rear used to kick alot. It wasn't enjoyable, it was down right annoying. I wanted it to grip and go.

I believe what critics say about the car being much better on track and not suffer understeer. But that didn't suit corners with tight and sharp exits on the public roads. I'd of been much happier with a neutral feeeling to the car.

Attempting to insult people must make you feel real proud eh? Or perhaps its you that feels insulted that I've moved on to a different car. Blinkered with tunnel vision. Yes, I do like my Lancer IV but just like the Impreza it isn't without it's faults, just as any car is. You can't say about word about Impreza's...most amusing! and most foolish!

I cant understand why everyone got on their high horse just because you moved away from the marque! all you did was give an honest opinion and yet by the comments left it's like you insulted their children. I dont blame you for moving away from a fast deteriorating badge mate

totally agree. To me, good handleing is a must for a car, and I find it hard to find one at an affortable price, hence I have had only 3 car for the past 20 yrs, 89 CRX from new for 10 yrs, 99 impreza turbo from new to now, and an AE86 in between for 2 yrs.
