Powervamp PV25 - same spec as the oddessey one? Your GB details clearly indicate that we were getting the Oddessey one but now were getting the Powervamp one?

They are readily available for 81 + delivery.

Does take the total to £91.00 with delivery though.

 

Just a little disppointed that the GB clearly stated we were getting the Odyssey battery, Bob's webpage clearly shows the Odyssey battery and now we're getting a different item (rebranded or not is beside the point).

It's the same as doing a GB on Subaru filters, getting the numbers required and then telling everyone that they are getting Blueprint ones (rebranded Subaru filters). How many of us would still be in then?

Hi Russell,

I contacted Odyssey and they gave me the details of two of their main distributors. I ordered Odyssey PC680s from one of them and these turned up.

No issue for me as they are EXACTLY the same battery, just with a different sticker on as confirmed by Odyssey. No other difference.

Odyssey sell them to Powervamp, who put their own stickers on a sell them as their own. They would probably send us the Odyssey stickers if I contacted them or if it was an issue.

I would be very interested to know where you can readily buy them for £81 as they cost us £78.72 (just the battery) + Delivery each, so we are taking a loss on them anyhow.

If the sticker is an issue, let me know and I will refund you.

 

Payments to all be made by the end of tomorrow.

Batteries will go out on Tuesday.

 

The place I found on the NET can do 10 of them for 71 pounds each plus VAT - assuming all delivered to 1 address.

I (assume) you are VAT registered so you claim the VAT back, this means they cost you 71 each plus the 10 shipping = 81 pounds.

I'm not VAT registered so I can't get the VAT back, otherwise I'd go with them. I am happy (as I assume most of the other guys are) to stick with the GB as you have put in the effort to organise it and the difference is minimal, I'm just trying to express my feelings about entering a GB for item A and then getting item B instead.

Hope this clears this up.

WUZ: That's not how VAT works. We can't reclaim the VAT unless it's for business use or export.

The 'readily available price' you got was effectively trade price for a GB and is still more than 7% more.

For you I have contacted the distributor to try and get a sticker sent out, which, if it comes through you can stick ontop of the Powervamp one.

Effort? I am paying towards your batteries and facilitating the whole thing and for what? Just a thanks at the end of it would have been suffice without the headache.

Fair enough Bob, but I do think Russell has a point.

You should have made it CLEAR to everyone involved that the item we've paid for won't be the one we're going to get in the post..!

Regardless of the fact that it may only be a sticker that's different, my Google invoice says:

"Not yet shipped 1 ODYSSEY PC680 Battery + Brass Terminals inc Delivery - Lightweight Battery + Brass Terminals, including delivery"

You even posted pics of Odyssey batteries..!

Remember your HID GB..? A guy offered the 'same' kits cheaper, only you claimed they were different and on the face of it they were (actually they just had different stickers)..!

I think some people, who have not seen these last few posts may be a little pi55ed when they get their none Odyssey battery..!

Not being funny, but you're the first person to jump up if somethings not quite what it should be..!

 

Jas: I found out when they were delivered and let you know straight away. I ordered Odyssey ones.

What I am going to do is hold the entire order until I can get some Odyssey stickers. I'm not going to be paying for peoples batteries AND have them displeased about it. Lesson learnt.

btw, it wouldn't bother me re the sticker, as I already have one on my car and know they are exactly the same.
