I'm getting my other half a pair of slippers and a vibrator.

If she doesn't like the slippers, she can go f**k herself!!

Old one, but makes me snigger every time!

BTW I'm actually quite generous with my present buying: her last gift was a sat nav system.

Thats my biggest concern

You are making a rod for your own back here, mark my words .... get her something domestic, something for your/family car, a BIG family TV or a MIG Welder ........................ then she doesn't get ideas above her station.

Thats good advice actually, treat her to something like that after 8 months, imagine what she'll be expecting in a couple of year

I actually did something romantic once, you know those handprints and footprints in Hollywood?

Well I gave my wife her very own .... when the builders were putting the final concrete screed on the kitchen floor I took my wife along to see her new place ...... I put some wellies on, stepped over the planks and jumped foot first right into the concrete in fron of the sink.

I slowing pulled back onto the plank, leaving two very fine footprints in the concrete, "There we go" I said, "Thats where YOU stand"

My missus has bought some boots (£140) and says I can give her them for Christmas, apparently I can wrap the BOX up and give her the £140, last year I bought myself a remote control car, I paid for it and she wrapped it up and gave it me for Christmas, so I paid for it in November and had to wait yet she gets away with paying and doesnt have to wait, so I said no !

Would rather get her a surprise, it p1sses me off this controlling what I buy her, as its not personal but mainly as its £140 on a fair of furry boots that look like they are worn by grannies with poor circulation.

I am going to get myself something really nice for her to wrap up for me !

Yea all this x-mas lark is a pain in the butt really.

Neither of us really want anything/need anything, and it always seems like buying something just for the sake of it. Don't mean that to sound like "we got everything" etc just we rent a place at the moment so there isn't any "house things" to spend money on.

We did speak about getting something as a joint present but then couldn't think of anything, lol, only thing we did speak about getting was a DVD recorder but a few months back our old dvd player packed up so went out and got a DVD recorder then. Because that was a few months ago it doesn't seem right to class that as a pressie

A Nintendo Wii and games, a new digi camera, and an exercise bike (her request) plus plenty of stocking fillers. Her birthday is the 2nd of Jan though so the bike might stay hidden till then.
