Whitby sounds fab to me... we did it a little while back and then there was another trip out that never went ahead so Whitby would be good for me

Riveaux Abbey near Helmsley as an alternative or Byland Abbey,again near Helmsley. You can get closer to the ruins than Whitby Abbey

Sundays are generally best for me as work most Saturdays, Early on in the month ie first Sunday or a Sunday after the 15th Pay days you know.
