Traffic Cops
Yup, I reckon if he'd stopped me for any reason his attitude would have wound me up too. Not to say the guy in the Ka wasn't a tool, cause he was.
Advice to demonstrators
"Passengers are not required to give their names regardless of what the police say - they are not covered by the Road Traffic Act in this situation, and would only have to give their name and address if they were suspected of having committed some other non-arrestable offence – eg not wearing a seat belt."
Home legal advice
"You don't have to answer questions however if you refuse to give your name and address you may be arrested if the police feel you have something to hide. Also if they think you have committed an arrestable crime you must give your name and address but no more."
Met police
"The police officer will ask for your name and address and date of birth. You do not have to give this information if you don’t want to, unless the police officer says they are reporting you for an offence."
Note the last source is the Met, who I would have thought would encourage giving name and address if they could get away with it

AIUI if you are not being arrested then you don't have to say anything.
What is your source? A quick Google search turned up the following:

Basically if an officer suspects that you have comitted an offence and you fail to give your details then you can be arrested. Obviously if you are arrested and then decide to give your details then the necessity for your arrest is gone and you will be released.

The CPS are a disgrace to this countries law enforcement
Meaty Gay's assault on the WPC was proof in point.
From a poor policing perspective, the racist verbal attack by the ka driving retard should have seen him arrested and charged... Had the roles been reversed I can be certain that the white man would have been nicked...
The pack mentality on the subhumanscumstreets was pathetic and if they cant be nuked, maybe a 50foot high concrete wall would be in order with armed guards only letting those in employment in and out...
As for 3 times a day man... I was pulled 27 times in a short space of time by the police when I was 18... It ended up in a home visit from the Chief Constable of Merseyside police to make a formal apology, because I was polite every time, made notes of times, officers numbers, etc and then finally filed a formal complaint.
I always had a laugh with the officers. They knew what my 7 iron was for in the car, but always asked me "how the golf was going" etc
3 Times a day boy needed help...
Again, the police did themselves proud for the most part in the show deserve a round of applause for a great programme.

I watched this last night.
The guys in the Ka played the race card when stopped for the second time.
What about the "white *****" remark following the first pull? I guess only the camera mic and not the police heard that one!
The driver appeared white to me anyway so you could say he was refering to himself!

I thunked that also
Democratic Justice?????
Just a suggestion........ on the TV programme the following details were displayed. Street names, house numbers, car reg plates etc.
To save time and money, those who found the actions of those captured on TV and found it offensive could use that information for justice to be served.
Im not talking about sending in the heavies, but the odd amuzing letter and enclosed goodies would'nt go a miss.
or
What if everyone who saw that muppet in the red Ka driving around the streets gave him some of their own thoughts, would it work?
Maybe its just me then? lol

When I got out it was the un-insured Bosnians that where a real risk !
I forgot to turn the lights out when I left.... now look at it !
Dunx
P.S. Back in the day Humberside had an Escort Cossie, then swapped to an S-plate Scoob as it took speed bumps better.... and replacement suspension parts where cheaper....
Now 60 miles away....

Re the guy in the Escort - if you are stopped by the Police what possible reason would you have NOT to give them your real name ? Only reason I can see is if you have something to hide, that they will find out by knowiing who you are.
The bloke in the Ka should have been nicked for his own protection - how can you be a Gangsta driving around in an old ladies shopping car ???

Perhaps if you're stopped frequently you want to make it as long involved process for the police as possible to deter them from stopping you for no reason.

Why?
Traffic Police get paid to drive around and deal with motorists, they're getting paid to stand at the side of the road, it's only his own time he's wasting

For all his sins Enoch Powell did predict social and racial unrest. He was vilified and called rascist. The world turns, the world turns.
