Will CURRYS Come Good??
Which is why he received something from them for their failings - DSG Retail would give nowt without legal action by the customer.
DSG are the sharks of the Retail Industry and could be about to go down the tubes where they belong

I'm fully expecting them to attempt to pull a fast one somewhere, they are in this one for the long haul I'm guessing?

It will give an indication to the Judges in Small Claims Courts about what to do - ie. that the ISO Standard quoted is for Office Ergonomics of Flat Panels and home viewing is completely different.
Home viewing is done for pleasure, anything which removes that pleasure means that it is unfit for that purpose.

Was playing with the RC Impreza out the front of the house and a neighbour popped out to have a chat and see the car. Boys and their toys, eh?
Anyway, he got chatting about buying a large screen TV - he was looking for something around 42" ...... I told him my tale of woe. Amazingly, he said that another neighbour had bought a LCD big TV at Xmas and last week saw he had a faulty pixel, is was deep red.
So, this other neighbour with the deep red pixel went back to the shop he bought it from - it is a shop which sells TVs, Toys, Beds, Chairs, everything in fact - it is a one family owned shop.
Result?
The TV was replaced straight away!! No dispute, No arguement, No issue .... simply replaced!!
I am, simply, shocked ...... I really thought that a small family business would try to pass it off as an acceptable fault, rather than some huge company like DSG Retail ....
Just goes to show, doesn't it?
Don't shop at Currys, Dixons, PCWorld or Pixmania .... all the same group with the same disgraceful attitude to their Customers!

Just seen that DSG Retail are advertising for 'Tech Guys' .. Field Service Engineers they call them.
Interestingly they are offering a salary of up to £18,000 ..... I work in Electronic Engineering and no-one who knows a Transistor from a Diode would get out of bed for that kind of salary - no wonder they were struggling to know what to do with my TV!!
Oh, I do hope one is brought to Court to speak about Plasma Products
And if thats what DSG are paying their 'Engineers' no wonder their Customer Service people are so rude (they must be on poverty wages).

Currys have said that my TV has a 'Purity Error' .... I did think that would be a unique use of the words applying to a Flat Screen Display.
But, no, they were calling faults 'Purity Errors' in 2005 on CRT's as well!!!

They are so stupid it would be funny if it wasn't me involved ......

Their defence hasn't come in yet, I have just come from the Court.
They need something to say I should accept a faulty product, it's got to be good - but they are used to being in Court, so they will be well versed in what to say and what works or not.
I think I have all possible defences covered - luckily I am well educated in Electronics and I have the law on my side - faulty product, repair or replace or refund - they have denied me all 3. Oh, dear!

We will NOT repair it, however, we can take it away for 28 days to 'look over it' in the Workshop.
Remember the important thing - their Engineers said they would not let it go into the workshops as there is nothing to look at - it needs a new panel, they said. "But we are instructed to offer an uplift to the workshop as it makes us look good if it goes further"!!

I have a transcript of what was said - tape recordings may not be allowed?
