MAD!!!!!!
Have you read the book?

Probably would be more dangerous for the pair of them to ride around London.
She didn't go anywhere near the extreme stuff, stopped in tourist type accomodation and had the crew backup including Doctor while she was riding.

I didn't mean just from the riding.

A former colleague lives on the shores of the Lake, he was shot at last year by poachers.

They didn't do anything more dangerous than many tourists do in many other parts of the world and they had a Doctor and armed security advisor in the team.
She did the easiest and most secure week of the trip bar the European bit.
I think the risk is being over estimated here. The highest risk IMO was her taking a high speed spill through her inexperience but she'd have a similar risk in the UK.

Thumbs down

And did she ever ride a bike in the UK or France? In all her years? She thinks bikes are death traps and has said as much. "Oh, but I want to be a famous motorcyclist like you, whinge whinge."

If she was that interested in bikes she'd have done it long before LWR and LWD.

If Charlie had more ***** he'd have told Obi where to stick his "I'm so excited my wife is going to be riding with me" crap.

A lot of people seem to have made up their mind before reading the book or watching the entire series.

So the usuall scoobynet jury then.

Burn her she's a witch.

I couldnt care less about the danger side of things tbh - thats their decision to make and Im sure its made to look a lot more "dangerous" than it actually is.

Must admit after watching the first 2 episodes it was a very awkward situation for both ewan and charlie. I think the previous quote from Iwan (SN):

"It's like when you plan a night out with the lads and someone brings the missus along, so you have to spend the whole time talking politely, rather than arguing about sports, supercars, ale, birds ***** etc"

Sums it up best

Like I said, read the book or watch the entire series and then make your mind up to see if Ewan and Charley's concerns were justified and to see if they both enjoyed her being there.
She was only there for 7 out of 85 days which were all easy riding and tourist/hotel/lodge stop overs. The gang still had 78 days of riding, all the off road, dangerous stuff and camping to themselves. I doubt anyone could claim she spoilt the trip.
It's being overblown in this thread because Ewan and Charley express concerns before the trip about her going which anyone would do.

Cheers

Yeah but on those 7-8 days where all they did was ride on easy roads etc, if she wasn't there the boys could have been off on a much more interesting route?

The way I look at it is that say you play snooker with your m8's every Thursday night, or go to the gym with your m8's, or fishing on a Sunday or whatever. And then one day out of the blue you suddenly tell them you missus is coming along, but only for a few nights. Fair enough, I'm sure you could convince them that 'you're really excited' about the prospect, but I wouldn't even get to that stage. Wouldn't need to. I don't intrude on my missus and her girly nights or hobbies and she does the same for me. It's called respecting each others individuality.

I've never tried telling my wife I'll see you in three months I'm going out with my mate and then say it again a few years later.
A bit different from a night down the snooker hall or a days fishing.

Like I say I've read the book and it doesn't infringe on the adventure, Charley does take off on one day but enjoyed the ride as his normal off road speed is twice as fast as Ewan or Claudio.
Saying that he did smash both his hands in the Dakar.

Cheers

It's got nothing to do with the length of time. If it was then Charlie's wife and all of the crews partners would be gurning in front of the camera for your viewing pleasure. She's a whinger, end of. Oh, and I read the book, all of it I could stomach that is

No matter how long the situation is, if you plan something with your mates, it's a mates only gig. If she doesn't want to be alone, she puts the block on it. If you and your mates plan something with your women, then it a couple thing.

She shouldn't have got involved.

End of.

wonder how many of the "she shouldnt be there" post are by people in a happy marriage with no divorces under their belts?

going away for months (twice!) is hardly a night of snooker.

So your under the thumb then

Im sure Obi wan was away for just as long when filming the last 3 star wars films. And Im sure his mrs didnt get away with asking to have a lightsabre battle with anakin as she felt "left out"

They're all annoying, thats what makes it entertaining.
Charley is a fish eyed wierdo but has some serious bike skills. Ewan is a total luvvie and was genuinly disappointed when he wasn't recognised at the Star Wars set in the last episode.
They are however both very likeable and good to watch , can't wait for the next episode.

Speaking as a girly, my heart sank when she announced she was going along. I was ranting at the telly........why?....why? I just want to slap her whining chops! The programme is supposed to be about the boys! However, I did wonder if it was a set-up, thrown in to add a bit more spice.

In my opinion there closeness is strangly homosexual.

Never have i been out with any of my mates and decided we should get naked and wrestle in the sea. They werent even drunk.

anyone else get this feeling?

or is it just me
