To be fair the screen and mounting is a copy of Alistairs.
The cables to my TV run behind the stud wall and exit at floor level behind the storage cabinets. If you do this properly you can add cables easily enough. I don't have this problem as my plasma has a seperate media box so al the sattelite/games consoles/PC/DVD/Amp etc. plug straight into that.
If you just hang a conventional plasma/LCD on the wall, The only way you can make it look good is channel the plaster and then fill it. Then you have to do it all again if you add anything. This is what i have done in the bedroom but i am not likely to add anything so i am not fussed.
I would recomend doing a false / stud wall as a few on this thread have done. It looks so much better. I have a 50" TV in a medium sized room and it does not look out of place or get in the way / dominate the room at all.

Wouldn't say "money to burn" - I've got two young kids, and it's really difficult to go to the cinema.

I mainly use it for gaming TBH, but do watch the odd film. Would like to get a better sound system but I am in a semi and I dont think the neighbours would be impressed..

I have a Sharp 32" HD Tv, Kef 3000 5.1 Speakers, Onkyo 605 amp. Well chuffed with the sound setup. Will be looking to replace the Sharp for a Samsung 37 and the Sharp will go in my boys room

We will probably move to a detached in the next few years so once we have done that I will do a proper job, also the current cinema room I have is quite small, about 4mx5m so would really need something a bit bigger to make use of the bigger sound system.

If you don't mind me asking, Where did you get the LED lighting from? I think this would look quite good behind my screen. I would just get a 2" band of lighting round the outside of the screen.
How many did you use? Are they separate or do they come 'christmas tree' style IYSWIM.

Kit comes with a transformer and a switching box with four sockets, cable runs and connectors. You can connect 1 to each socket, or daisy-chain them. I have 8 running in two daisy chains from 2 sockets out of one tran/switch, but when on white it seems to overload the transformer (white will have r,g & b at full power I guess). If I used two separate trans/switch's then I forsee the colour shifts moving out of phase

i bought 3 sets (in white, i think it will suit the room better and its cheaper).I unpacked them all and found i could put all 12 strips into a single transformer and they worked OK. How pissed would i be if after daisy chaining 12 to one transformer and chanelling/refilling/repainting the recess behind the screeen if they kept packing in on me.
I will use all 3 transformers now, with each strip individually connected to the switching box. Down side is i will have to drop 12 wires behind the stud and fish them out at the bottom and i will have 3 switches.

There are lots of excellent small speakers available: B&W MT20/30, KEF KHT, Mission M-Cube. You would need to add an AV amp to these. If you want an all in one, try the new Sony DAV-IS10, the speakers are absolutely tiny! :0

I dont understand how Bose get away with selling such rubbush, Im looking to use B&W inwall sig7nt up front and the dipole rears, if i feel brave then maybe a meridian g95 to run it all. topped off with a 50" pioneer plasma
