Sadly missed my main three hero's have gone Senna, Richard and now Colin
My thoughts go out to both families for their tragic loss.
A GREAT man has gone but will never be forgotten.
R.I.P Colin & Johnny. God Bless
May be something could be done for the Welsh Rally a collection of Subaru's at a service or lining the route to a special stage that Colin may have done sometime.
What ever is decided I shall be there.

During the Group B era rallying was my passion. I all but lost interest when those cars were banned in 86. About 10 years later, my enthusiasm was re-kindled, in large part due to Colin and his flamboyant driving style. He also seemed like a really good straight ahead guy. I was shocked when Richard Burns contracted cancer and subsequently passed away. And now Colin's gone. A very sad day. RIP

He was the best we had a true gent and an inspiration to us all, if only all people were more like him! A sad time for us all, I only wish that we can one day see him on god's special stage. Why not do a meet at Prodrive then onto silverstone?

Marshal's memories
All of us who were privileged to marshal when Colin set the forests alight, winning the RAC/Rally GB (as nowis) and then the WRC, will forever hear his Impreza on all those tracks every time we go there, for the rest of our lives. I hope all those bereaved by this truly shocking accident find comfort and strength from each other, and from the many thousands who will be praying for them, all around the world.

Went to watch network q lots of times, just to see the Master at work, and if he went out of the rally it just wasn't the same. Can't believe I'm typing this so soon after Richard.

A true fearless fighter - and a true Scooby Braveheart who inspired many, old and young, bringing world rallying to the British public for the first time. Long may his memory live, and long may his family be comforted in the knowledge that so many will miss him too.

Always said if ever i put graphics on my car there would only be one set and that would be of my Hero, two weeks ago we ran a charity fun day with all the proceeds going to RBF, for this event i had some fitted, yesterday myself and a few friends had a trip out to Wales where many times i have watched Colin in action, i took five minutes out to gather my thoughts and took these:
God bless Colin

Can't really any more to what have already been said.
Very nicely written Simon
Rallying and the world of sport in general has lost one of the greats. He will be sadly missed.

What an absolute tragedy. Colin McRae was a hero and a genuine nice guy, not to mention an extremely talented driver. He will never be forgotten.
My sympathy and respect go to his family.

I think a big meet up and a convoy drive up/down the country would be a good idea to show our appreciation.

Totally gutted.
Met Colin at the 2002 McRae stages. Despite trying to have his lunch, he still had time to speak to myself and the missus, who was speechless at meeting her hero. Sadly never saw him in full flight on a stage.
Having looked at some of those youtube tributes, I remember now how worked up I used to get watching him, and how upset I got if he crashed out.
Since the WRC lost him and Burnsie, I don't follow it anymore.
Like so many on here, he was the reason we got into Subarus, and had to get one. Think we need one on the drive again.
Colin,
thank you. RIP.
Mike.

my first interest in rallying started years ago when Jimmy was rallying. however i remember this young lad called colin who was up and coming. he was fantastic to watch. then of course the whole subaru connection started and eveyone knows the rest.
all i can say is he's a hero to me and many others. to loose him and richard burns in such a short space of time and both such tragic and sad circunstances has left me numb.
heart felt condolances to colins friend and family and all connected with the people killed in this tragic way

I was 4 when Colin McRae won the WRC, and it was the first WRC I ever watched (on TV). Obviously, with him being a British driver and an amazing one, he became my idol straight away. I followed his progress up until he left the WRC and even past that.
It took 8 years to persuade my parents that what they really wanted was a Subaru Impreza like Colin McRae, but they gave in eventually and the whole family has fallen in love with them.
He will be sorely missed, truely the greatest british driver of my lifetime, if not the greatest driver altogether.
