It's a tragedy no matter who is involved.

However, constant speculation does not help

Speaking from his home in Switzerland, Mr Freudiger said he was still in shock and fighting back tears as he said he could not reach Mr McRae's wife, Alison.
He added: "I have heard that it was his aircraft. He was in the helicopter. I cannot believe it was a helicopter pilot error because as my best friend and the godfather of my daughter I know he was a very safe pilot.
"We have been close business partners and friends for seven years. He is the best person I have ever met in my life. I have to try and understand what I have just been told."
The aircraft, which was registered to McRae, came down in Jervis Wood, around a mile

Legend. RIP.
His agent told The Sunday Telegraph last night, funny that as the crash happened this afternoon

It doesn't look good.

I'm sure if Colin was alive he would have been in contact with his agent and would have informed the press by now (unless he doesn't have a mobile phone? - doubtful ). The fact there is no news looks like the bodies yet to be identifed could well be him.

Yes there doesn't seem much to be much doubt now, let's hope he was on his own.

That will be well sad if it is him. Watching Collin win in the Scooby was what made me save for my first Scoob, which is the WR1

Come on guys - there are at least two dead people from the crash RIP

This is not the time to bickering or speculating.

Just wait for official confirmation.

If it is Colin and Alistair the world of rallying will be worse off for sure

Colin winning the 95 world championship was the reason I wanted a Scoob all these years too

Would you mind if I RTM the thread so it can be made sticky....I fear we might see a string load of threads pop up as this filters through to people.

I am totally stunned by this news, i just don`t know what to say. Lets just keep our fingers crossed that the worse possible news that we fear is not confirmed and remember those that have died.

It may be his son that was with him.

AS previuos posts, lets wait and see.

As I said, my Pal is a Cop on duty tonight in Glasgow, and will call me when he has some CONCRETE news.

He feels that the Air Investigators wil have to do stuff before identification and, thinks it will be morning before formal news is released.

Sad Day>>>>>>>>>>>>

What the hell's going on with all these infractions being dished out? It's neither the time nor the place for petty squabbling!

Alan i agree 100%.
Pointless speculating about something when non of us know any facts other than the heli was registered to Colin.

Agree, but some people are disrespectful of the situation.

Thoughts go out to those involved
