Extremely sad, I cannot think of any words at all.

Now my two rallying heroes are gone Richard and now Colin - without these two I would probably never have dreamt of striving to run a scooby.

Colin lit the fire of my passion for Imprezas and rekindled my interest in rallying.

For his family I am devastated and all my heart felt thoughts are with them - especially to Alison who may have lost a husband and a son (if the rumours and true) and their daughter Hollie who has lost a brother and a dad - very very sad.

RIP Colin

Love

Rob

My thoughts go out to Colins family

I am deeply saddened and upset by this news, the loss of a truely great driver with great natural ability, he will be well and truely missed.

RIP Colin.

Been offline while moving house and have just woken up to this news. Absolutely totally gutted. He was one of my sporting heros and the reason why I love rallying so much and the reason why I ended up owning 2 Impreza's. still can't quite believe it and I'm sitting here in a state of genuine shock.

I really don't know what else to say.

Terrible news this morning, I went to see the RAC Rally in 1993 because of Colin McRae and haven been going ever since.

Thoughts go out to his family at this awful time.

RIP Colin

I was hoping to wake up this morning and the news would have just been a bad dream, sadly its not and we have lost a great rally driver and such a well liked person.

I'm in total shock as i only heard today as i've not had the PC or TV on as i have been to a wedding.
My thoughts are with his family and friends who will miss him so very much.
The man was a rallying legend.

I wonder if Subaru will release a limited edition model in his honour?

Devestating news, another motorsport legend checks out. this one's hit me even harder than even the Senna crash.

To loose Senna, Burns, and Mcrae so early in life is a tragedy.

RIP Colin.

Subaru MUST make a special edition in his honour, not to do so would be sacralidge.

Latest news says that they are still to identify the 4 people on board the helicopter due to the extent of the crash damage.

The Police are still to confirm who was exactly on the helicopter but they beleive it was Colin and his son.

what a terrible time for the McRae family.

As with so many on here, he IS the legend that inspired me to Impreza ownership all those years ago

A terrible tragedy for the families of all those involved and a great loss to the motorsport world in general.

RIP Colin and all those involved

Just trawling through Youtube & came across this straight away, just had to post it up. Apologies if it's been seen thousands of times (I'm an Integrale owner) but Colin could turn his hand to anything. I've got fond memories of brief conversations with him at different events. Just like most people on here, I feel that I've lost a VERY close friend. YouTube - Metro 6R4 Colin McRae course car

Such very sad news ... as said by many people on here it was Colin McRae back in the mid 90's that made me drive the car i drive today ...

I still have vivid memories of Chester Race Course back in 95 ... awsesome performance ...

To the King of Rallying ... R.I.P. Colin

He obviously was though

Are there any plans for a memorial cruise or similar? I'll be there !

Don't know what to say, this is such sad news. I spoke to him briefly at last years Goodwood Festival of Speed, he was really approachable and friendly. First Richard and now Colin, unbelievable.

So sad, condolences to his family.

Did Subaru ever bring out a McRae special edition? If not they should something to remember him by.

What's the betting Colin and RB are "upstairs" now, talking about old times?
Here's hoping.
