eml light on when picked up, knocking noise on road test, steering wheel not straight.
code read and came up with lambda sensor and maf sensor which was then cleared.
transported to Southampton, unloaded at shell garage as had no fuel, eml light came straight on.
got back to my workshop on Isle of Wight, to check knocking (was told drop link), actually driveshafts.
all 4 brake flexi hoses cable tied up and rubbing on body.
alignment on front pointing inwards.
nearside rear alignment can’t get into spec, something is bent but not obvious, toe and camber out.
exhaust was broken but not blowing.
receipt for timing belt, water pump and service, yet not been done.
rear tyres worn on inside edge.
rear shocks leaking.

was only imported July this year and covered 72miles since it was noted with no advisory’s.

iv had 2 months now and not used car yet as not safe yet, iv done 90% of it.

their now not relying to my emails, I will be sending an invoice for work done and court if don’t pay.
i have pics and details of all the faults.

Whhha that sucks bud, sorry to hear you had so many issues and i hope they are decent and sort you out.
I bought my 04 blobeye from them but made a boo boo. I saw a receipt showing that the car had the timing belt done at 42,000 miles and the car was on 60,000 so thought it was sweet. Got home and read the receipt properly and it was done in 2011 so i ended up taking it to a subaru specialist near me and got full service and cambelt done. Then two days after my month warrenty was up the top mount on the coilover started to seize, but the car was on cheap ebay coilvers so ended up purchasing some Teins. I didnt bother contacting them as thought there was no way they could have known the coilover would go.

Picked last week from Pole Position UK, fresh import JDM STi standard apart from a Miltek exhaust, remap and a cheeky Genome Boost Gauge. Lovely motor and is honestly spotless! I am made up

Plans? Gunmetal wheels, splitter and lower - and to enjoy her!

Thought I would post up a pic of my Blobeye. It’s a 2005 Blobeye STI with the PPP fitted. Had it for just over a year. 52k miles.

Mods are - 18’’ XXR 527’s, Tein Flex Z Coilovers (fitted around 500 miles ago), Angled Exit Cat Back Raptor Exhaust, K&N Panel Filter, front splitter, Blitz blow off valve, Perrin & Mishimoto Engine Dress Up parts and recently fitted Rally Tech engine Dress Up Kit.

Its also had had some other work done. Belts, pulleys waterpump, front driveshafts were changed. Discs and pads are next up!

Marc

This is my Blob WRX, had it since August, absolutely love it, it is my daily and I have done around 4000 miles in her so far, now at 57k. Pretty stock bar the obvious exterior changes and a cat back. May retire it from daily duties soon as my current job role isn’t that conducive with a car that you really care about!

This is my 2005 WRX Blobeye - 67K Mies.
ECU remap to around 270 BHP when I had the cam-belt service
Swapped in leather interior from an SL

The photos are from around winter 2018,

since then I have..
  • painted the wheels gun metal grey
  • recoated the callipers red
  • installed all round Brembo drilled brake discs
  • Had the steering wheel recovered and thickened (not as tacky as it sounds)
  • Added some Yakima roof bars
Once the weather improves, I'll give the car a proper clean and take some more pics.

next thingies to do, considering suspension kit and sway bars, private plate, put in the electrics so the heating works for the leather seats, , not looking to make it into a monster, I'm happy with the performance, handling has room for improvement, looking to just give it some classy subtle styling cues.. ideas welcome

I've seen a few Blobeyes on this thread that look neat with the rear spoiler removed, any tips on how to seal the holes left behind or is that a boot replacement job ?

Thumbs up

Some really nice Blobs in this thread, the best shape newage IMHO

I've owned mine for over 11 years now and driven over 100K miles in it (130K on the clock now), it's my daily driver which i get to do the occasional track event with.

I entered my first event in 5 years this February and won it overall, so still not forgotten how to drive in my old age yet. Amazing piece of kit for something i use every day with aprox 480BHP and 500LbFt on tap, yet drives like stock when you want it to.

Having fun in the wet at Silverstone this February on the GP circuit, just before the world went mental.

Yes, I've run twice in this car at TOTB, three other times in previous Subaru's.
I organised the team in the early years before Steven and then Clive took over, i also won the first trophy for a Subaru at the event in TOTB1.

Good stuff, hope you enjoyed the event.
It gets driven daily (before CV19!) but hasn't had a proper run prior to Silverstone for 5 years as I've been concentrating on work plus helping Josef with his TA car.
I bought the car with the original plan to keep it stock, but my competitive spirit got in the way of that idea.
