Thanks for organising it, it was a good day if a bit damp. Certainly made a differance from the usual flat out all the time racing on Karts. Still not figured out how they decided to put people into semi's. Anyone get any pics, and ho won the drift competition.

Well done Andy, the day was well organised. I had a thoroughly enjoyable,.... FREEZING COLD day.

Luckily about 5 mins. before leaving home, I remembered I had a set of un-used bikers waterproofs, which were used to good effect.

Unfortunately, what I failed to remember was that I had another set of waterproof overalls for work in my garage.... Sorry Trystan (my son) who was saturated after the warm-up. The lame excuse for him not doing better is that he was too cold.... i'm proud of him.

He came 4th in the 2nd semi-final, and I came 4th in th 1st semi. Bragging rights are shared!! if we had a re-run in the summer when it wasn't wet, my money would be on him with his weight advantage. Todays conditions were more suited to weight, experience and aggression. He isn't quite agressive enough yet but that will come...He was well chuffed that he equalled me. I said to him 2 years ago, that the day he beat me, I'd get serious for him and we'd buy one for him. Ever regret opening your gob?.... That day is approaching for me....

I was very happy to win the qualifying points total, and so copped for the whip of £40.00

Most points total entitled me to pole position for the 1st semi. How miffed was I when I realised the best driver of the day was position 2 on the grid?....
The same guy (David) who had beaten me fair and square, and the only driver to overtake me all day, on the last qualifier!!.

Now I had a plan.... Hold your line, dont make any risky manoeuvres, and possibly slow the field down to my advantage. I've qualified 1st for the semis out of 5 races, so play it cooooooool and i'm in the final. (wrong)

Holding the 1st bend and accelerating down the straight , I've got a 20 foot lead after the 3rd bend. Play it cool shaun, play it cooooool..... 2nd lap, at a corner that i'd not been great on all day, I was RAMMED from behind and planted into the scenery!

No spins all day. Got the top qualifying points. Shunted into the vegetation in the 1st semi!!!! Didn't make the final

Gutted at the time and wanted to throttle him. But time heals, and if u see him Andy, say sorry from me please. I gave him a verbal volley!!

Anyway,I hope there will be another day out in the future, before the arthritis sets in for proper!!!

Shaun (wanted to put loads of smileys in, but im running out of time until bedtime!!!!)

Great time, thanks for organising it Andy. For me, each race went....
Lap 1. Feel out the changing conditions on the track. Lap 2. Check out where to try and overtake. Lap 2.5 Glasses and visor all steamed up, can't see anything. Miss braking point on bends and spend rest of lap just trying to hang on.
Think i've just about warmed up once more.

I agree, great track, great venue, great karts..... very odd scoring system. At Amen Corner near Rufford Park have lap times.
Non the less still well worth the money

They would be really interesting in the wet, but they will be quick. Ancaster must use some weird points system or he didn`t like my driving style.
