Ever given blood?
The good bit is waitress service from the attendants: "Would you like some tea or coffee?" "Biscuits?" "A sandwich?" Much more civilised than whole blood.

Good 4 u meridian I have been doing platelets for three years now, vegetarian so settled down now on eight weekly donations and now up to 68.
where I go we get 4 hours free parking too which the wife uses to go shopping but we are not allowed to eat at all, drinks only allowed, shocks of horror once when I went with my packed lunch in tow! Also ensure a sample is taken for bone marrow register, you never know!
In 1992 I registered my bone marrow, in 2001 (recovering at home when 9/11 happened) I donated to some middle aged bloke in England now cured of his chronic leukaemia by my bone marrow donation. Nice night in private london hospital and few doses of morphine and a bit of back ache is all it cost me.

Yes I've given blood this weekend...
Last Saturday teatime I was sat in a pub near some young ladies while trying to read a book (yes I know Billy No Mates again). They were so busy talking about their work exploits since leaving university last summer that they must not have noticed me.
After half an hour of their screeching my ears started to bleed and I had to leave the pub!
