Is no problems Darren..

This weeks progress..

First, received this..

Along with my uprated fuel pump, and fuel pressure regulator, all courtesy of Lateral Performance.

Also, managed to take possesion of a rather nifty Nukabe tow eye for the front, courtesy of a good customer, and now good friend, Craig Levens.

Which goes something like this..

And due to one of my customers changing his mind on his car, I also ended up with this flocked dashboard also..

With the first of several Defi's installed in the air vent..

This week I have also recieved my brake calipers from the machine shop, and will be going to the anodisers this next week, then back to the machinists for finishing off..

Slow, but steady progres it seems...

Thumbs up

Neil,
That towing eye should be yellow for the race car look

and so people passing by don’t trip over it

Small teeny tiny, if not a bit boring update..

I wanted a black carpet, but seemed a bit tricky to get hold of, for what I wanted to pay...

So, I managed to get a grey one, and after a thorough jet wash and dry, preceeded to 'waft a bit of fabric dye over it'

Here you can see it after the first coat..

And all done, with std carpet alongside for comparison..

And in..

Looks a bit patchy in the pics, but looks good as in the flesh...

This is not a race car
This is not a race car
This is not a race car.....so he says!

You can't resist spraying things can you ?
Is it sitting on the ground yet? Your watchful audience is getting impatient for the picture we are all waiting for!

yea, regards the carpet dye, i bought a new bootmat for mine and it was black, the classic side panels in my car were grey, it took 3 wafts of black dye to get them dark enough to make it all match

Bloody tease!

I am very bored here while I move from Impreza to race car in 2008, and you are the only entertainment!

It really will be a nice car when down and done.

I guess Body men do it Slowly,
while us hillclimbers do it in seconds +/- 1/100th.

LOL @ Graham

Japtorque, the dye was purchased by the missus from somewhere like Wilko's (other retailers available )

I just put it through a spray gun, as I do, and it seems ok to me.

oooooo i'll have a peek at your wheels on Monday when i come to collect my car Neil......

mine will be alive again in 4 weeks ready for 08 show season... got a couple of new bits to show off but really just can't wait for a drive after 7 months of it being in Neils....

Thanks for the storage Neil... oh and the couple of hours you have put into it, and if you have time to actually read this post:

'sell me your clocks' & get my car finished

Seriously tho this truly is an awesome build, none of the pictures on this thread do the car justice, in the flesh it's stunning.....a credit to hard work, determination and taking modification to the next level...

For those asking, and interested, the brake set up started life as a K-Sport 356mm set up, and the handbrake arrangement is as per the standard car...

Cheers Mick, hope you get back on track m8.

Due to the size of the rear discs, I had to remove the shroud off the rear backplate, like so by drilling out the spot welds, and a bit of touching up was neccesary of the powder coating..

Handbrake assembly is also now complete, and discs are fitted..

Onto the interior, I have got some bits fitted..

JDM Defi style clocks..(cheers Conrad)

And I also got some of the 2005 centre console fitted, along with the modified location for the electric mirror switch.
2005 models have the electric mirror switch in the door, whereas my 2003 has it in the centre console.
The 2005 centre console has a space for 2 heated seat switches, which I simply altered to take the mirror switch, and re-wire the direction outputs to coincide with the mirror movements.

Sort of resembling some kind of interior now..

Also recieved this today, along with my up-pipe and downpipe, all ceramic coated...No more heat wrap for me.

Are the 05 centre consoles a straight swop for the earlier ones then, I wanted to get one for my bug recently but wasn't sure if it would all fit.

Ive got the same Zircotec coated headers Neil. you wont belive how much cooler they are compared to wrapped items.

Are the door cards black, flocked or retrimmed?
