Had a good run last night till the lag got too much. Survivor was fun after I got enough money for a decent weapon, only problem with this map is u need a lot of players to make it fun. Assault2K rocks, love the map. Sounds like u all had a laugh. Who is on tonight and what time?

Mike can you put this map on the server as well it is called de_mexico. It is a cross between dust and italy, it is a smallish map but has three levels and makes for some good fights. Plus the bonus is it is only 417kb in size for all you HPW

bazza : i've been telling people to download the new ones for ages and how many times do i change a map and see several people suddeny disappear

hopefully i think everyone now has the village / arabstreets/ celtic / assault2k etc so i've been giving them a good play recently.

i'll grab these new ones when i get home later.

Orb, follow Damajas link to his map resource page. He is missing Luxor I think. Airninja was there IIRC.

The rest of his list is pretty much it.

Else go to Jolt.co.uk and get stuff from their map page. Get Winternights too.

 

Been fiddleing with skins I know I'm sad, but first very basic attempt.

Just a quick question relating to the maps you're kindly hosting on your site. I notice that there are only the .bsp and .txt files there.

Dont we also need certain .wad files for most maps and the .others for Airninja as specified in the readme file for airninja ?

/me possibly being either very dim or slightly helpful ?

Norm, for some of the maps you do not need the .wad files at all. Really all you need is the .bsp files, the .txt that goes with them is what appears when you join the game at the beginning. Some maps do require .wad and .wavs and sometimes .tga (I think it is .tga) but I try to find you guys maps that only need .bsp's so there a relatively small.

Air ninja has a fair amount of extras above the .bsp. Best for safety to get the whole zip

I've also been looking at the other custom maps on Rogue. (There is a custom map public server aswell). Got them all running on my little LAN server. There are loads. Takes ages just to quickly look at them. I cant believe the time and effort that must go into creating these e.g. de_predator.

Even on my LAN the d/l within cs is utter pants (udp for you). Best not to rely on it.

Not dissing the locked server in anyway but downloading the maps is utter guff. It gave me a max rate of 5kb when I have got a 2 meg line! Took about 15 mins to download one map!
