de-cat downpipe gauging interest
I could get a batch made and do them for around £100 if theres interest. We have a range of exhaust components made already so its not difficult for us to get some Scooby stuff sorted:
High flow cat
Tubular manifolds
Turbo elbows
Front pipes
etc etc.
Anyone interested? It would take some time, at least a month.

Maximum of a ton. Ill get started on a batch now. If you guys are in a rush then Ill not be able to help but Ill get cracking on some anyway as we are looking to start supplying more Scooby parts. We have access to manufacturers of a wide range of parts and can sell at great prices so we might as well use that product base to expand our market slightly.
Sorry for the late reply, we have manufacturers all over the world, Im just searching to see what our guys already do before starting from scratch. I have had some sample mid sections come through, just chasing the other components
What bore size would you guys be looking for?

What bore size would you guys be looking for?
Is there any specific reason why some of the currently offered centre sections and downpipes narrow to a small bore by the flange and then expand out again? Is this just so theyll mate to the original components?
So its better to have the bore of the system the same all the way through? It might be a daft question, I just dont know if maybe the exhaust manufacturers were trying to control back pressure. With Nissans we just go for minimum restriction so same bore throughout.
The 2.5" is just so the sections fit together with standard/other manufacturers, full 3" is better for power. I tried for weeks in vein to sort out a new front pipe for my 3" earlier this year but in the end went for 3" pipework with 2.5" join cos I could get hold of one easier.
The 3" I could find used a flat gasket join instead of conical which IMO is just too stiff to run without a flexi pipe (the reason my original pipe snapped). 3" with conical gasket is probably the ideal solution as its considerably cheaper easier than fitting a flexi join. A specialist manufacturer I spoke to said a 3" slip jointed system with flexi is the most reliable way to do it (but it wasn't cheap

Ok, I know its gone quiet but I have been working on the full systems so tubular manifolds, up pipes, front pipes, centre sections and back boxes.
Rather than starting from scracth Im containg various manufacturers to see what they already offer. Ive found a number fo goodies so far and have had multiple samples come through but none of it really fits the buill 100%.
We have three types of centre sections, two of them are 2.5" but use the original front style flange that Id like to retain. I need them remaking for me in 3"
I have another centre section in 3" with silencer but they use a flat style flange to connect to the front pipe. They do, however, have a flexi section install so look the best option at the moment. Theyre only GC8 though.
I have a GC8 front pipe that looks good with original ball type rear flange but it goes down from 3" to 2" at the flange. It would need remaking 3" right through but then we need to sort a large ball and socket. Thats not a problem but getting a 3" fibrous sealing ring may be more of an issue.
I also have three types of manifolds coming to look at.
Progress is being made

Right count me in for a classic decat downpipe when you get some sorted.
Also I thought the standard 2.5 bore was adequate enough unless you were going for big power - 350+bhp.. Would the 3" on a more standard or mildy modded car not loose you a bit of power over the 2.5" pipe. I understand the bellmouth end of the downpipe needs to be bigger.
I'd want something that's a direct replacement for the original. That way it's not a nightmare changing bits over come mot time etc. Same lengths, joints etc. but that's up to the maker.

I am not sure about everyone else but 2.5" systems are fine me and for most applications unless going 400bhp +
I would definitely buy if you can supply this but it would have to be the bell mouth type as pictured below.

I would also be interested in the centre section as well, price dependant.

The problem with having interchangeable parts is that you need a standard size and style fitting to mate to the centre section. The maximum bore size is then restricted by the bore of the original centre section front fiting.
I can get the pipes made in 3" but they would need a flat custom 3" flange to mate to a matching centre section with corresponding flange. That eliminates the chance of having interchangeable components BUT you get the larger bore.
Ill get some pics of the parts I have alrady tommorrow so you guys can see the progress Im making and have your input.
I can get the parts made however you want them but theres always a compromise somewhere.
All the front pipes have that style up-pipe attachment.

These are the pics of the full system. It obviously needs to be bought as one unit due to the flange designs. Theyre in stock and ready for purchase if anyone interested. Ill get one fitted to our Scooby asap, will get some footage and will host it so you can see and hear what youd be getting for your money
I have two other sample centre sections but cant get pics as theyve already been test fitted on vehicles. I didnt get pics originally as I didnt think theyd be of inteerst due to their relative narrrow bore.
I have another front pipe, I just need to nip out and grab it to get pics. Ive also got more back boxes, up-pipes and manifolds coming to look at

Bren would it possible to leave some sample stuff with Andy as I will getting some work done, and would be a good opportunity to look at the stuff and match it up to the car.

Andys got most fo the samples already, hes got classic and newage centre sections (2.5"), classic front pipe and one of our complete new classic system (front pipe, centre section, back box, all 3").
I think hes fitted the 2.5" centre sections to his own car and has sold the Apex classic system but its still in his unit at the moment. If he doesnt have anything left when you go round then just come and see us, we are only round the corner from him

Will you be supplying the classic front pipe (bell mouth type) that is standard replacement item (i.e 3" to 2.5" @ centre pipe end)?
If so how much is the group buy price.
