I am pi55ed off now as after a whole day of pain and almost feeling out mf my depth when having to change all the fittings for the brake hoses (wilwood bits don't fit directly on to existing fittings) I only managed to get the fronts done. Went to move the car forward to be close to the garage door, forgot I was parked off center so my little stop grooves weren't there and was so tired I didn't notice the fact that I actually parked against the door, causing a nice bit of paint damage across the front bumper
. Never do things when tired..........

Well today was 'interesting'. took the rear apart and got to work grinding down the ears so the the new calipers fitted correctly. After trying them I realised that the uprated rears needed a fair bit more cutting awasy than the template suggested that came with the fitting manual. Got that sorted well enough and set about cutting back the dust shield or whatever it is (The manual goes on about drilling the spot welds out and removing completely but I like the idea of keeping them on, I modified the fronts too so I could keep them on). Ended up with this:

Painted it all up with black VHT paint as it was all I had around and then set about trying the disc out with the handbrake pads getting then just to not make contact by a smidge when down. Tried sitting the caliper in and saw that there was no way that I could get the caliper to sit. I had wondered about the fact that I had ben sent different rear bells to what I have seen others with and what the manul has in. I figured out that I needed to ignore the manual, completely unwired the discs and put them on the other side, lol ****. Redid it my way including rewiring which was more difficult now but hey presto ended up with this:

I had actually resprayed the rear bells with Black VHT paint earlier today due to the finish being a little flaky on the bells but it was more of a charcoal colour so I took a real gamble and finished with black plastikote enamel over the VHT base (VHT 500c max, Plastikote 150c max lol, don't see that lasting long
). After all of this flaffing around the day had stonked along and all of sudden the weather closed in and it started to rain so I couldn't even finish the rear sadly. Took this poor picture in the drizzle and the car looks high due to being let off the jack and not moved but meh:

Hope I am not boring anyone, putting this all up just incase it helps out folks in the future
.
cheers,
Nick

P.S. I am NEVER doing brakes again, this has all reminded me why it is pretty well the one thing I don't do lol, don't ask about the empty reservoir...........................

Well bar bleeding everything, all done. I had to take the day off work to finish, all the showers didn't speed things along..... Not overly sure/happy about the fit on the rears. I cut out pretty much all that I was happy to cut out, which was a lot more than the templates for the normal set said, but with the rears in place, about 2mm of pad is visible from the tops of the calipers. The fronts look almost identical to this but not by quite as much and needed no modding to sit. Basically they look like they will do a really good job of cleaning the outer edges of the discs if that makes sense, but not sure if that is right or safe tbh. As you can see, I got pretty close to the bolt holes when I was cutting back, really don't want to risk losing strength more.
