Thats not true of gruppe-S. My rear discs are both drilled and grooved from gruppe-s.
See the pics here:

Guys, as per usual, thanks for all your help. I think I will contact both parties and see if they can confirm what I would recieve. It might be the beer in me, but the more I see the Wilwoods, the more I am sure that I will break the bank to get them. Never, ever thought that upgrading my brakes would ever get me even vaguely excited! /me slaps self.
I seriously think that for people looking to upgrade their brakes on classics or non-brembo new age and doing all at once, with the current exchange rate these puppies really take some beating.
Danke,
Nick

Just for the sake of others reading this thread and future searches, any ideas what would be involved to fit these to pre 99 classics?

Right, I have car back now and have made the following observations:
The wheels say on the inside of the rims 5100 (5x100 stud pattern) and e50 (guessing ET50 offset, not ET45 as I thought)
Using measuring calipers on the 4pots at the front, at the closest point between the caliper and the inside of the rim I have 0.605 inches of clearance or 15.37mm. The legs of the rim curve out from the centre to the edge of the rim so as the discs get bigger, there is actually more of a gap between the disc and the inside of the alloy. Does this make sense and without me taking the wheel off/disc/caliper and working out the distance from the hob to the inside of the alloy leg, any educated guesses on if the Wilwood kit would fit before I email them to death?
Cheers,
Nick
P.S. Here is a random pick of fluffy that just happens to have a front wheel in it if that helps.

Erm, at the moment I don't know as I have no undertray to fit on. That Hyperflow is a fair bit deeper than the stock intercooler. I have just got home and am about to savage the current tray to tide me over while I wait for the STI7 Zerosports tray/splitter to arrive. God knows what will need doing to that to make it fit..... Just fyi, the top cooling surface area is pretty well 15.5" by 6", so not that much bigger. I can't tell the difference atm as I had a few things done at the same time including a remap but she has a problem where power quickly heads south past 5.5k
. That and I think the ported headers are leaking a bit.
I have a thread on the intercooler/undertray here: https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...undertray.html feel free to give it a bump
.
Back on topic, any wild guess at whether or not?
Cheers,
Nick

Ah right, cheers. Just got a very similar top mount off Ebay, but instead of bar and plate, it's a tube and fin. Was hoping it was the same make, so i could get a comparison against the stock ic, before i go for a remap and waste my money.
Just buy the brakes and be done with it.

I am far from the expert here but wasn't it quite a gamble expecting the ebay tmic job to give any improvement? I have no idea if this Hyperflow is even vaguely better and it is a beast! (well, for a small classic intercooler
)
What did AndyF say when you told him of your purchase? Don't Ikea up your lovely P1!
I know I am asking a load of questions about the brakes, it's just that I am not a techno nut and I only just bought the wheels, I can't just go 'oh well' and blow a load of dosh on another set of wheels to clear the brakes

It wasn't bought from a Ebay Trade Seller, it was a private sale and the only top mounts i could see that were "upgrades", were all the bar and plate...not the tube and fin, so i'm still unsure of the make.
If it doesnt work any better than stock, so be it, at least it wasn't £600+ like some of them.

Right guys that's a done deal (well once I decide whether or not to splash out on the red ones!). I wasn't too fussed, but asked and they come with dust seals
. At this price it really is worth it I reckon. When I was talking to GRD about them, James was saying that it was well down the list of priorities to upgrade the rears on a my99. As most experience scoob guys know, the fronts really are the most important, however, when I told him exactly what and how much I was getting for the money he completely understood that it was worth a punt!
So, last question, red for maximum attention of black? (Black car, light bronze wheels, big discs with black bells and red calipers, hmm)If anyone has any pics of the reds on a scoob that would be vundebah!
Cheers,
Nick

Right, well the rear set arrived today, I was given the option to upgrade the rears to Forged billet Dynalite calipers with the 12.1" discs and all the bits BAR the fluid as I don't think they could ship it overseas (can't remember if I am getting a slight discount for that but I won't hold it against them
). Customs are currently having a field day with the other delivery which contains the fronts I believe. Chris at Scoobytuner shipped them the same day they came in from Wilwood, gave me all the codes to track and also as requested did his best to make the delivery look 'cheap', significantly cheaper than they actually were
.
Once I get the fronts I will take a couple of pics too. The pictures don't do these justice, the calipers alone are huge and these are just the rears! I stuck the sheet of A4 down to give you guys an idea of size:

I won't know until those customs gits let me know I am afraid. I got hold of DHL this evening and apparantly customs still haven't released them and 'want a word with me. Oh joy..... You need the lines as they are not standard fit. They cam with the kit that I bought, I merely upgraded the rears in the kit.

Right well I have good news and bad news.....
The good news is that the fronts were held up due to DHL making a cockup and not customs so luckily they came through duty-free. The bad news is that when they arrived they came in a DHL box with REPACKAGED written all over it. Upon opening it and getting to the bottom I found to my horror that they had stuck the bells inside the calipers with no protection and they are all scratched to hell, pissed off but hey, what can you do. I will see if Chris at Scoobytuner/Wilwood can give me a pointer to a replacement paint to touch them up with as it's not worth the hassle of returning them etc and it was DHL's fault anyway, not theirs, their service has been faultless.
As for the brakes, WOW! We all thought that the rears were really impressive but we were blown away when I opened the front caliper box and a caliper the same size as my size 12 foot came out! Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship and apparantly very light according to my colleagues (been years since I changed any calipers). The alloy bells were very light which helped to offset the very deep and heavy and tough-as looking front rotors. Everyone in the office that saw the kit when it was laid out were gobsmacked about the sheer size, look and quality of the brakes, most good
.
Anyway, I have spammed more pics up for those that want detail (coke can in first one for size):

I won't have these on the car for at least a couple of weeks though as she is at Subaru4you next week to sort out the motorway vibrations and I am not happy to put them on until this is fixed.
Guys, even with the gamble of Duty on these, I would take the risk every time after seeing just how good the quality of the kit is. Give me a full set of these over just front brakes from AP Racing, Alcon etc any time
. Once again thanks a TON to Chris at Scoobytuner.com, top class guy and top class service
Thanks to all you guys too of course for your help and pointers, this has become a fairly useful thread to add to the search archive
.
Cheers,
Nick

Happy to post up what they cost all in now that I have the info in front of me.
Including Barclaycard's lovely 2.75% international COMMISION CHARGE which I forgot about, £1544.14 including the upgraded calipers. It will actually be a little less as Chris has kindly agreed to refund me a bit due to the fact that they couldn't ship the fluid internationally that came with the kit.

They look fantastic
Definately tempted, although September is insurance, service & MOT for my scoob

They do look rather sexy in red don't they?
Redtop, yes they should fit no problems behind the P1 wheels. They have a large ET IIRC, the same as my OZ's even though they are 18", but there is PLENTY of space. Same for the rears. You get the lines with the kits and if you buy secondhand, you will NEED them, as they have a different thread in the caliper, compared to the Subaru calipers etc.

Guys, if you have a mo to save me time hunting, could you let me know where you got your 'standard 0.032 inch diameter stainless steel safety wire' for threading through the rotor bolts? I have seen a couple of places but if you got yours from somewhere online where you don't have to phone up, get prices for delivery etc that would be most useful tbh.
It looks like I will have to get the front bells re-anodized which sucks
. Although I have a local anodizing chap that does great work, I didn't want to lose the Wilwood logos etched into them. Ah well, better to keep them in as good nick as possible, don't really want them oxidizing
. Damn you DHL lol.

Right, well I sorted myself out just to get it out of the way. 1 reel of 0.032" SS wire, 1 pair of lockwire twisting pliers and 1 tube of Red Loctite 271 ordered off Ebay.

Sadly I don't think they have external seals
. I got bitchslapped not once but twice this week by DHL. 2 sets of duty sent through to me at £70-odd each for the brakes, like that hadn't wound me up enough by damaging the fronts....... Had the front bells hard anodized by my local guy that charges in packets of bensons lol, got them redone in a much tougher coating for only 2 packs
.
I am hoping to do the brakes today, probably by myself sadly as my friend who is as adept with cars as me has bailed
.
From previous threads I couldn't really see anyone that had gone to the trouble of safety wiring the bolts as advised, but I spent a lage part of a day on my belly in front of the telly doing this:

Wasn't the most fun I have ever had let's just say that
