AM really, really hoping that they don't do a Deus Ex 2 and ruin it. System Shock 2 is one of the greatest games ever made and Bioshock has the potential to be even better.

 

So..........Sony have lowered the price and given away some goodies?

It STILL doesn't compare with the PS3 sold in the USA for $499, though, does it> For the benefit of those who don't know, that's£244.25, a LONG LONG way lower than the UK Sony price.

used to swear by online pc gaming but shen i split with wife i got a 360 and havent looked back since.

360 has the best range of games

racing = forza2
fps = chost recon awf2 of rainbow6 vegas
action game = gears of war

but there are so many diffrent games now its unreal.

nintendo wii has the best quirky games and a real fun factor

(ii)You never, ever use "todays" exchange rate for the you pricing strategy.

You will find the prices are comparable if you add in the extra items for the UK packs.


Still would have been nice to the choice and gotten a reduction.

Its only what I've read in magazines so it may not be the case. Just read a few comments that the gameplay might be a bit suspect.

Its happened before. I could not wait to get my hands on "The Thing" when it came out but the developers destroyed the gameplay to make it suit consoles then ported it back to PC - badly. I was soo gutted.

I'll probably get it anyway. I bought and completed Prey which to me was nothing but pretty, headache inducing scenery with shockingly stupid AI.

STALKER I can't rate enough. I know people slate it for not being very pretty and buggy as you like but I've never had a problem and its one of the few games (HL, HL2) that I've bothered to play through again.



I play alot of RTS games too which if they do come out on console can be a PITA to play.

If I split with my misses, I'll just find an MMO I like and quit my job so she cant roger me for a settlement

Works out with P&P at just over £300 , although it WONT play UK DVD's , but plays all PS3 games .
So I suppose £399 for an extra 3 games HDMI lead and a free Blu ray disc its not that bad a deal

Remember this is Play.com's own package they're doing, NOT Sony. Sony stated last week that they weren't dropping the price of the PS3 in the UK as they think the 2 game package at £425 was good value for money.

Play probably have a load of stock they want rid of!

Im surprised no one has mentioned the 360 elite which is coming out end of next month with any luck

The hd-dvd will work with a pc using either dvi-hdmi or hdmi-hdmi provided your system is hdcp compliant and you have the latest version of power dvd ultra

Shame they took the PS2 chip out of the EU PS3 as you'd have been able to dump the PS2 with no worries.

I can't think of one sim on console that comes anywhere near the games on PC for driving. The physics is all wrong on consoles for some reason.

GPL is about as real as it gets, there is nothing in consoleland that comes close.

The nearest thing on console was F355 Challenge, that was pretty intense.

 

Did you know that GPL will work on Win XP if you download the GPL 2004 demo and instlal it in to the GPL directory?

TOCA Race driver 3 is pretty good and so is Colin McRae Rally 5. EA Sports F1 is quite good as well.

I thougt TOCA 3 was bad. The previous games were ok, but the handling in version 3 was terrible, and the "real" track layouts were actually nothing like the actual tracks...

 

the ps3 is awful compared to the 360 its so much cheaper and has all the same capabilities as the ps3 apart from the online play on the xbox which is sooo much better its unreal im sorry but i think the ps3 is over the top and is way to much money
