I dont want to cause issues - how you run your forum is up to you.

It is a shame to have to charge people to use a search facility, it may have a detrimental affect on new people joining, cos without the search how would they know that the answer to their question lies here rather than SIDC, 22b.com scoobycity.co.uk or any other site that doesnt charge to search.

I guess time will tell on that one but I hope it works to get the servers up to speed and members happy

YET AGAIN - YOU CAN STILL SEARCH - AS CAN NEWBIES

-

and mostly takes you to the archive pages.
Oh no!!! Shall I arrange some councelling for you to get over this horrible ordeal? Click the very top link at the top or the page which will take you directly to the full version of the page.

OR.. just read the information you're so desperate to find - yet only, i would assume £4.99 worth of desperate, as it clearly isn't THAT important to you.

Look..

Newbie problem
They can still seach so there is no problem.

Member problem
They can still search so there is no problem.

This is starting to concern me that some people really don't seem to be getting this?!?!? We've even taken the time (for those who don't want to pay us) to put the search facility into the actual menu.. and STILL people are complaining.. how very very very odd?!

-

Hi Alan

Just go through it as normal as though you're going to pay via paypal, and the paypal interface has a "use a credit card instead" facility.

Thanks for having so much patience to give us some money

I just find it strange that forums such as MLR with similar member numbers and similar activity on the site do not have the technical problems that you seem to have here with servers/search functions.

and.... If I want technical info I dont ask here.

As an active member on this board for a good while now, and a member that has put money directly into your pocket, and still does so by recommending people use scoobynet before signing up for the smacs private forum, I'm a little miffed that my "smacs active member" badge gets me nothing other than the badge itself now. As discussed in the past, we neither want nor need a part of the forum to call our own, but it would be nice if all smacs members got at least the first level of benefits that you're now offering for a £5 fee. Would that be possible please?

On another note, can you tell me why you've lowered the bar to almost nothing where "club member" badges are concerned. I worked very hard at convincing members of the smacs to stump up the extra money the first time round to meet your quota of over 30 members before we could have a badge. In the end you lowered it a little, and from memory we got it at around 25 members. Now you've given the NICC a badge with what? 7 members?

There seems to be a number of different things to deal with in your post.

When you signed up for the badge, the only benefit you were looking for was the badge, and this account upgrade is a totally different set of benefits in return for a totally different kind of payment.

I appreciate this isn't completely straight forward, and possibly we should look at offering search for all club badge members, the whole idea about the signatures, and custom user title, etc is that you are paying once to kind of "own" your account and make your mark on it, etc.

If we offer the club members the search facility, would that be reasonable, taking the above into account?

Now, on to your second query regarding us lowering the bar. The bar is still set at a minimum of 25 as we established with you, but on this occasion and to give everyone a chance to get going, we (as we did with you) gave NICC a concession by setting them up at 20 badges. Not quite 7.

Let me know about the search thing.

Simon

I have paid for the full + membership

Just one question, what can we put in our signatures. I gather advertising other companies is out, like subaru tuners etc...

What about links to other Subaru forums sites, somthing like this:

My Journal ~ Showing off my Sport from the day I got it through each stage of my
modifications and buildups, while maintaining my personal wish list

P.S. Why is my username NOT orange?

Simon, the search facility would be a good consesion, thanks for that. So all member badge holders now get search facilities like the old scoobynet?

Could you let me know how many active badge users there are for each club now, as I know some of ours haven't been renewed this year, and the extra benifit might sway people to get one.
Cheers Simon.

Chris at the bottom of the main forum page, there is a link at the bottom of the screen that says View Forum Leaders this will list all the user who are currently active members of each club

Looks like you got 24 members Chris

Loving the free Google search facility you added in the menu. A nice compromise for free members.

I guess it was worth paying for, maybe, 4 years ago. Not anymore IMHO.

Still, it should help boost your pension fund.
