Okay chaps, tiny update.
I wanted to fit my heads up tonight but i forgot the wrench i wanted to use so couldnt fit them up. I'll wait.

Gaskets arrived,

Aslo my injectors arrived, these are supposed to be very good indeed so lets hope they do the trick.

Decided to get the short block on the stand and to fit the oil pump anyway, so obviously i took pics hahaha

So hopefully make some better progress on my next update.

I think the Frayz dust is just 18 months worth of me being uninterested in my car.

Dont know where youve heard that from mate its incorrect. The stock avcs motors use the 10mm pump. Some of the JDMs used an 11mm pump. But most have now gone back to the 10mm pump as the extra flow cannot be used by the engine anyway. The pump ends up having the relief valve open 99% of the time and the pump just airiates the oil.

If you have huge clearances and need the extra volume then fine, fit a bigger pump, but unless youre running custom drilled cranks and opened up oil appertures then the 11 or 12mm pump wont do anymore than the 10mm item.

Frayz,

I noticed on the other thread that you're sticking with 11mm ARP studs. In your opinion when do you feel that 14mm is worthwhile? If at all....

I only ask as I stuck with 11mm as well. When sorting out the issues with mine and putting it back together, I originally put the 14mm conversion in the budget but David of APi fame basically told me I was throwing money away. His reasoning was two fold (if I remember correctly)..

Basically, he said 11mm will do pretty much what 14mm will do and offer no real increase in clamping force. The other reason he said why many say you have to have 14mm is due to the myth and hype surrounding it. He further argued that even if I decide to drop the T and go for a V, a SC billet or rotated, my engine can easily cope with the extra power.

I trust and value David's opinion and went with his advice. I just wondered your take on it being another opinion that I value - especially as you're looking at considerably more than my lowly 450 .
