Lol, look what arrived this morning. How frustrating now i cant do anything with them. Grrrr

Still, they look pretty, Supertech Racing one piece valves.

Stainless intakes with nitride coating and Inconel exhausts.

Valves/seats have now been leak tested and are ready to assemble. As soon as im fixed up and back at work, these will be washed, re-inspected and assembled.

really pleased with the way the heads are shaping up now. Lets hope they do the business once shes all built

So then, what else you gonna do when youre stuck home with a f'ked shoulder and cracked ribs?

Port + polish your heads

Bored today so armed with porting tool, carbide burrs, sanding drums, brass wheels, mops and soap i set about cleaning up my ports.

Actual port shape has been largely uninterfered with but all 99% of all casting imperfections and flashing have been smoothed. Also smoothed in the roof angles towards the valves slightly and cleaned up the dogleg area in the exhaust ports.

The intakes have been finished in 80 grit by hand and have a nice smooth key. The exhausts have been polished to almost mirror. Really hard to photograph, especially with a phone, but here you go.

Just a light lap left to do of the valves before a final cc check, wash and assembly.

Intakes

Exhausts

Thats because it is 30 years old! lol Carborundum paste is still exactly what i use at work.
To be honest, ive already vac tested teh valve seats and they all pulled up fine. But im going to give them a very light lap with just fine grit paste anyway.

Seats are already multi angle, so there is no advantage to cutting them again anyway.

Valves all given a light lap today. Very light with only fine grit paste just to ensure the seats were 100%.
Took it slow as my shoulder was killing, but i had sod all else to do. lol

Just wash, assemble and final cc to go

Really hope these heads work as ive spent quite a bit of time on them now.

All those words Ross and you choose "POSH" PMSL hahaha

Nah mate, ive been sorting turbo pipework and turbos this week. Hopefully i will get the rest of the money for my 30R next week when i return to work and then i can order my GT35R. Hopefully getting the full Tial V-banded stainless ex housing setup for the turbo too.
Also spoken with Neil @ Thermal Logic who is hopefully going to make some parts for me too.
The heads are ready to assemble and so is the short motor. As soon as im back at work i'll get on it.
Its getting ever closer to the fun bit now

Should do you perfect.

I was messing about the 4094 Ross... One of those will see you comfortably into the 700s.
I've actually ordered a 35R.. Which should get me comfortably in the 500s possibly nearer 600. Simon, JGM is pushing 620 out of his 35R of the same spec.

I've also gone for the Tial stainless exhaust housing which is fully vbanded, more compact on the outside (inside identical to the Garrett)
Its also far superior to the Garrett housing in terms of surface finish. So could flow a little better.
Oh its 33% lighter too. So. Even if it doesn't perform better, at least its lighter, neater and won't rust lol.

I've ordered a 10bar 413 pump too and have some Injector Dynamics 1000cc injectors on the way too.
Fueling should cope with well over 600bhp

.. and I'm the muppet that fell for it..

Sounds awesome fella... looking forward to the pics!

I'm just a big jessy but anything over 500 sounds quite crazy for road use!

I have one of those 413 pumps on mine. Overkill on mine but I got it for a very good price from Harvey.

I only got the 413 as I too got it for a daft price. 044 would have done enough.
I think 500s in a newage will be fine for road use. Should be exciting enough and not too scary.
Maybe the 30R would have been more useable on the road but I'd rather have the excitement of the 35R
I think I'll still probably want more anyway.lol
