No! I wouldn't dream of saying the astra is faster. But between any 20mph increment up to 100mph ie. 30-50, 50-70, 70-90 in any gear the astra would leave you for dead mate. You see, it's all about weight and transmission losses, oh and the fact the astra has 300ft/lbs

1st off quote as many figures as you like the mark 4 R32 is one awesome car. I owned one before my STi PPP. A low milage 3.5yr old version will still set you back £17k, that's almost 77% of its original value !! You can buy new VXR's for that, but what will they be worth in 3.5yrs .... yeah exactly!!
Why do they hold their price so well do you think, it certainly isn't because of their "crap 4wd system" now is it, it's better than the one in your Astra.. right!! lol, i didnt buy all that in one year!!, got the s60r at 9 months old 2 years ago, then gave it to my wife this spring, then traded her car againest the bm, the bm is just over 2 years old with 30k on the clock, i dont buy brand new cars, such a waste of cash, i always like to pick up some bargins at 1, 2 year cars.

cos im self employed that helps to reduce my tax bill, compared to a employed person

 

I'm thinking of leasing (or similar) using our ltd company.
Seems like the way forward these days.
Buying a company car outright is financial suicide unless you want a 1.0 Fiat or similar.

 

i have thought about leasing in the past, but my biggest problem with that is i do a high milage, 35k + per year, which allways make the leasing costs really high, if your only doing 10k a year, then prices seem good
