My revo is the 2.5 Version
But i would imagine the running in procedure is the same
I Followed the running in guide in the handbook word for word , I Completed tank 1 in about half hour , Tank 2 about the same , Just stop starting round the garden
& Then for tanks 3, 4 , 5 Delegated a whole evening around Frayz's Gaff ( Massive long garden ) We were there from 6.30pm Till midnight getting her set up
Now she runs as sweet as a nut

BTW mate, yours is a 2.5R.
The "R" came with a larger revised blue cooling head and more aggressive port timing

All joking aside i really wont recomend anyone buying a Jato if theyre new to RC nitros.
This months RC car action have just done a "fastest of the fastest" test,
ie fastest touring car, fastest stadium truck, fastest monster truck blah blah blah.
They have officially crowned the Jato 3.3 the fastest nitro stadium truck ever and clocked it on radar at a mental 67.1MPH!!!!!
"Hands down, the Jato 3.3 is the fastest 1/10th scale truck we've ever tested. You will not find another truck as awesome to drive as the Jato 3.3" RC Car Action mag
For your info
the fastest monster truck/truggy was neither a Salvage or a REVO
Its was an XTM Racing Mamoth ST clocking 48.8mph
The fastest 1/8th scale buggy was the new Team Losi 8IGHT clocking 47.3mph.
The fastest car overall was the Traxxas Nitro 4TEC 3.3 which incedentally uses the exact same powerplant as the Jato 3.3 and REVO 3.3 (actually a 20 size engine)
The 4TEC was radared at a blistering 72.1mph!!!!!!

Theyre very very user friendly.. especially the Revo. They larger trucks are a real "go anywhere" vehicle. Parts are readilly available too.
Both trucks have easy start systems, although the Revo again is slightly more user friendly due to having the onboard starter motor. The Savage has an opening for an inputshaft from an external starter motor.
The Revo is slightly more low slung with a very nice suspension design and alot more performance orientated. The Savage is built like a brick **** house mate and will take a beating probably slightly more than the Revo. Both are more than fast enough to kep you entertained.
Another nice feature of the Revo is its onboard diagostics. This will automatically shut the engine down should there be any kind of interferance or low battery problem. A sequence of lights will also tell you the fault too.
Personally IMO you cant go wrong with either but id deffo steer clear of the Jato unless youre seriously good on the sticks.
Up to you mate
Feel free to contact me if i can help in any other way. Also might be an idea to come along and have a look/try out some cars and then make a choice.

neil, i have at least one type of each car mate,
monster truck, buggy, drift, touring car. my personal nitro favorite is the 1/8 scale buggy, which i've just got out of hibernation.
you are most welcome to try it out sir and see what you think.
take your time and buy the best you can afford - it will pay off in the long run.

Cheers for the advice, I will come along to one of the gatherings once we get back.
Then will have to see how much money Zak leaves me with , then maybe time to join you.
I see Milamber is also coming round to the idea
