Would have loved to have seen your face whan i came off the roundabout onto a straight WET dual carriage way floored it and went sideways @70 MPH. whoops not enough traction yet...

The plan is starting to come together......

Leaving Lakeside at 10 am, should then meet the Sussex Crew at Pease Pottage about 11am. Head off the A23 and through the back roads so we come up Devils Dyke.

We then head into town where we shall just wander up and down the pier, kids can play on the beach or the amusements, grab a bite to eat and head home at our leisure via The Tunnel

Pink shirts please and walkie-talkies on channel 1. 10-4 good buddies

9am sounds about right, followed by a 9-15 meet at the Skoda garage

CHANGES TO MAP 5 ONWARDS

The ammended route

*Leave PP services heading south towards Brighton

* Leave the A23 at the Hickstead showjumping exit, driving over the A23 into a village called Sayers Common ( B2118 )

* Continue on the B2118 entering the village of Albourne

* Drive through Albourne until you reach the T junction with the B2117

* Turn right onto the B2117

* Take next left onto A281

* Continue down A281 for about a mile when you should reach a mini roundabout

* Over mini roundabout onto Saddlescombe road...

This is the road that then takes you over Devils Dyke!!!!!!!!!!!!!

* After the fun part you will arrive at a roundabout for the A27 go straight over it

* At the next roundabout take the 3rd exit = A2038 (King George VI Av)

* Down the hill 2nd Left onto A2023 (Nevill Rd)

* Follow this road to the sea (Nevill Road becomes Sackville Rd which becomes Hove Street)

* At the end, turn left onto A259 (Kingsway)

* Turn left into Cannon Place

* Then park in the 2nd car park up the hill on the right

* When in car park head straight on and await instructions

Just thought i would let you guys know that the roads of Brighton will be even busier than usual that day!

I have been reliably informed that it is the annual London to Brighton Mini run that day as well.....

They all converge on Madeira drive and also use surrounding car parks.... You may wish to have alternative parking ready to use just in case....

I have a mate who is doing the mini run.... They leave Cystal Palace at around 9am, so will be entering Brighton late morning/midday...

Get this.... 2100 entries ( they wont all fit on madeira drive! ). So you may have to plan that car parking again or at least have a viable alternative!

Although they are only minis so that eqauls about 1050 normal sized cars

 

Just had a look at their itinery and they are leaving much earlier than us

Not sure what to do about parking. Will they be using the same car park as us?
