I do hope for your sake that you have checked the accuracy of those teeth, and don't make a mistake like someone else did

 

PMSL . I'm on safe ground with T. rex - the number and size of teeth is variable as they were continually shed and regrown.


Apart from the incisors, that is... I don't know whether I'm going to do those, though.

Bubba, I have a proposition for you.

I am intending to set up a ''workshop,'' whereby someone would travel the country promoting skills such as this. I think you would be extremely good at it.One thing I should mention is for you not to promote drinking whilst using machinery/tools etc. If you are interested let me know.

I'm too Stella'd to use edge tools, now. Isn't it odd how the teeth get everyone's interest going? I've had the same in the past when I've painted portraits. You do hours and hours of w*rk getting facial modelling, skin tone, nuance of expression absolutely spot on, but they only go "Wow!" when you put a white dot in the iris of each eye.

 

It brings it to life.
Before it was an interesting bit of oak taking shape. Now, it is a T.rex

Not got much further today. Just been generally w*rking on the teeth.

 

No, I've just been removing more of the background material inside the mouth, evening out the depth and w*rking on the "roundness" of the teeth. Difficult to see from the pic, I know. I might go for two-day updates now I'm at this stage, unless it looks significantly different.

 

Why do we only ever see it from one angle? I thought it was a scuplture in three dimensions, not a painting.
