The car was built as a HKS demo car in Hokkaido and never really driven on the Jap roads. Arrived over here with a confirmed, accordong to the JANMAU cert, 39000kms on it

Yep. DBM with black leather. Love it. Dont like to drive it for fear of putting too many miles on it

38 k miles on my MY00.

It was registered on 9th Feb 2001 - any one got a newer classic. Apparently it was one of the very last in DBM?

Are there many of the above 1 owners? I am presuming that there would not be that many?

Sorry folks, I've just got to say this......

I just don't get all this low milage thing.

Surely you buy an Impreza to drive it ?

Enjoy your car's !!

Use them for what they were made for. -- DRIVING !!

All due respect but everyone is different and intitled to do as they wish, some people don't need to use as an everyday car so just get an oppertunity to drive at the weekend hense some low milers.

I'm the 3rd owner of mine in 7 years. 22k on it when i got it

I agree they are meant to be driven but if you dont use it that often, i.e., only on summer weekends, then you end up with a virtually pristine, low mileage car that might be worth something in a few years.

We all know that mint, low mileage classics are getting pretty rare.

My UK MY99 just hit 100k over easter......so how long before it goes bang? ...mind you with no mods except the exhaust I'm guessing at least another 50k, just in case though what sort of mileage do you need to start looking for any problems? I've noticed some people have changed engines around 100k and did have a problem with the MAF a while ago.

31k miles on a MY99 UK Turbo Wagon in White.... bought for an absolute bargain basement price, guy didnt know what he had. Surprising as he was a trader?!

Still, one mans loss is another mans gain.

Always a 'little' bit suspect when you find a realtively old car with extremely low milage.

I've always found that if you get one and then start 'really' driving it, all the previously unstressed components start dying and need replacing! My ethos is drive it hard and enjoy it - BUT look after the bloody thing as well! Alwasy depresses me when ypou hear of a lovely motor going pop simply due to the owner never checking the oil!!

Having said that I've got a MY99 with 73K on the clock and its going strong (touch wood!!)

MY98 UK Turbo 47700 miles. Just had another service today and seen that id only done 2000 miles since last service six months ago. Mentioned to Subaru technician that was thinking of selling it and he
said to give him call if i do as he regularly gets asked by customers / mates whod be interested in mint , low milers.
