TBH, alot of people coming from North, West and Mid-Wales would have to travel 25 mins out of their way to come back on themselves to Elan Valley again. The Elan Valley Visitor Center will be off limits, as it has about 30 car capacity and there is only one area I can think of which might hold all 50+ cars and that is by one of the remote dams (Claerwen Resevoir on your link). There are toilet facilities there also and it is a good place to have a mass picnic...

What is the plan for the day?

Yes its going to be tricky getting us all in but this is always the problem unless your at a show etc with plenty of room.
You say that there is a car park at Claerwin resevoir that might just do so it looks as it that may be the one. Yan has checked it out and given it the

The plan for the day is just to meet up, chat, bbq ,picnic etc, if peeps want to go off for a drive around the dams then I suggest they do it in small convoys otherwise as you say things might get a little tricky.

I think it will be a case of first one there save a space or two or twenty or fifty, perhaps the BBQ should consist of bacon, sausage and we'll have breakfast instead of lunchtime BBQ
