They're okay on large sections but you may struggle on your curvy bits( ). I swear by Turtle wax, a lint free cloth and some elbow grease.

The best remedy after hours of graft, a good blast on some quiet roads.

Yeah that sounds about right

Funny thing was that after i spent hours cleaning it i drove 3 miles and a bloody tractor pulls out in front of me and flicks loads of mud up the front.

I dont know why i bother

UNfortunately, my car is covered in bitchumen thats had a few months to bake on.

So, today was spent just stripping off old wax, removing said crap, not to mention chemical fall out, and I still ned to have another bash at the sills.

Tommorrow will actually involve polishing and waxing which most people would have done anyway over the top of said fall out in the first place. I wish I was none the wiser like that.

You will never sell. Everyone can tell you love it. Scoobs are a wonderful, characterful ultra-reliable vehicle to own and drive. They don't suit a track, but so what? Every time I get in mine, I feel happy. Only the fuel consumption is a drag.

Your mutterings are falling on deaf ears Bubba, Ali will never praise his Scoob Oh and they can be made to suit a track with a few minor tweaks. Not bad for a four door saloon/five door hatch that will cope with the rigours of family life too.

Ooh, I wouldn't say that. 6am this morning I was driving a lowely BMW in the sunshine, window down, the wonderful howl of the silky 6pot. The instant response of the engine within a mircosecond of me flooring the pedal, the weighted steering that loads up on cornering with nice crisp turn in without wanting to push wide all the time. And the fredom to kick out the rear when I feel like it.

It maybe slower than my old Escort, but it has more feeling through the controls of any Classic Impreza and as thus its far more pleasureful to drive .....

Trip computer said 20.1mpg...oops

Lowly or lovely? The BMW is one of the few cars that has got the dynamics right, perfect balance of ride comfort and handling.

Definetly Lowly....its only a 325 touring, of all cars.

Jumped in my scoob afterwards and took it down the local twisty lane on the way back home, and it just felt numb. Lightspeed fast, just I felt nothing.....well, apart from a second where I forgot about the brakes
