Think I will double check that its not before eating there again tho.
I would like the think the chickens have been culled in a humane and civilised way, not by the rules of a barbaric and medieval religion.
Halal meat should be illegal in the UK IMO, if its proven the animals suffer more using this method.

Couple of my colleagues at my old place are muslim and so any off site meetings were normally held at Nandos because they wouldnt come into pubs or dine at PigUlike...
I used to look forward to the choice of chicken with chicken and chicken side tasting no better than the Colonels pride and joy. It's a bit like Wimpy, you think their burgers are 'better' than McDonalds because it is served on crockery... Same principles at Nandos IMO.
Anyhoo, each to their own but give me traditional pub grub over that stuff anytime

Too true. Hanging concious animals by their rear legs, slicing their necks and allowing them to bleed to death is quite sickening by modern food preparation standards.
Source: Halal Food Authority :: Definition of Halal
It is only allowed because of 'religion' i.e. some vague crap dictated to an illiterate farmer by an imaginary sky fairy about 1300 years ago.
Also while we are on the subject of Islam and food, how about a view on why we shouldn't eat pork (from Islamic Voice )
"The pig is the most shameless animal on the face of the earth. It is the only animal that invites its friends to have sex with its mate. It feels no jealousy. And among people who consume pork, the practice of wife swapping and other forms of promiscuous behaviour is common."
Well I'm off to make myself a bacon butty. I'd get the wife to do it but she's away sh*gging all my friends.

I love the way Islam selects its dinner based on its morals, i.e. if a pig is unfaithful you don't eat it, its very infidelity saves its life, way to go piggies.
I reckon the Pigs do it on purpose.
I love the Halal, Kosher thing, same chicken, raised the same way but unless its killed in that special way it cannot be eaten, bit bizaare when you actually weigh it up, anyway, its always Halal butchers on 'Life of Grime' getting done by the environmental health !
Can I order something and then reject it if its Kosher/Halal as its against my non religion ?

Actually I was thinking what a bunch of wimps are on this forum. Who gives a toss how a chicken dies as long as it is done humanely.
How would any of you coped 50 years ago without mass stunning techniques or when cattle received rods that smashed their brains.

I would like the think the chickens have been culled in a humane and civilised way, not by the rules of a barbaric and medieval religion.
Halal meat should be illegal in the UK IMO, if its proven the animals suffer more using this method.

I hear Telboy is known to wear disguises, but I think if he was carrying on as an islamic fundmentalst, he'd wear a burka.

Hey my friend!
We get these chillies in Kenya, small round and red. OMG, there is nothing that lethal! Even my close big chilly eater friends run away from the site of them. Once gave one to a friend while in class at school, told him it was an "indian strawberry", have never seen someone in so much agony.
Think red chillies are more lethal. We cook pili pili pousin chicken with red powder chillies, when it's hot, you know to leave the loo roll in the freezer over night, cos' they coming out even hotter........
