They are VERY easy to fit, particularly as i have made the custom mounting bracket. Took me about 4hrs to come up with a good design and good place of mounting WITHOUT having to make holes in the car etc. I will post a picture of the mounting from underneath a bit later.

Other than that the camera has a connector on one end (which incidently comes through an appropriate place in the boot (and i include the grommet), which then connects to +ve, -Ve and also has the phono connector for video out which obvioulsy goes to the connector on your video device.

Cash or Paypal mate, i will be at the Lodge next week for delivery if that is OK.

The wiring has three wires, +ve, -ve and the standard phono connector which is the video output from the camera. Much the same as any standard home video / audio equipment. If your JVC has Video input, then this will connect fine. Even if the JVC has a jack plug or similar, you just get a cheap Phone - Jack convertor plug for 50p from Maplins etc.

for clarification -

With the custom bracket, this is how easy they are to fit onto the bumper also.

I've PMd you the paypal details and more than happy to send to Yorkshire as P&P is included in the price

Steve

Hi mate, yup yours went out at 4pm today with a nice new bracket made

So it should be arriving either tomorrow or Thursday.

Let me know once it arrives OK and if you have any problems fitting it etc. I have tried to make it as simple as possible though.

I forgot to mention, there is a nice rubber blanking grommet if you look from under the bumper on the rear offside of the vehicle which leads straight into the boot compartment, behind the boot lining trim. I included a new grommet for the cabling leaving you to keep the original one save cutting it up.

How did you power yours, did you take the +ve from the ignition (in which case it will be on all the time) or is it possible to power it from the +ve of the reversing light

If you only using it when reversing, it should be OK, but if you want to use for other thing it's not much use.

As Mark has suggested, it really depends how you want to use it.

I have mine linked to the CarPc and it has a dedicated power supply, so mine is slightly different

I see you have three main options as follows:
  • If it is going to be used ONLY for a reverse cam, then i would suggest taking power from the reverse light. There is absolutely no problem with this as the camera draws very little current.
  • Secondly, you may want to power it from the ignition feed (Aux line) if you wanted to use the camera and switch to it at ANY point whilst driving.
  • Third option is to have a switched line from auxillary AND have a feed off of the reverse light, so you get to choose when the camera is LIVE, and it is automatically powered when in reverse. With this option you may need a little assistance as you don't want to feed power back to the reversing light and make it illuminate.
Hope this helps and i have probably totally confused you !!

Excellent job mate, well done.

The bracket does work very well. You should have seen the amount of "prototypes" i came up with with different mounting positions. I am really fussy about this kind of thing !!

Is it all wired in yet, or is this stage 2 ?

Oh yes all wired in what fun i had as i decided to fit the wiring under the carpet along the transmission tunnel so i've had the rear & passenger seats out all good fun though

The bracket wasn't to hard to fit once you get your hand behind the bumper you've got quite a bit of room to fit it

Ignore the cutout in the surround as i'm waiting for a new one
