This is primarily for use in case of an accident, but I thought what a good idea it was and how useful it would be, in incidents like this, if you could hand over footage to the police who could deal with it appropriately as they use their own video evidence from their cars now.

It may be a little 'big brother', but could prove useful in some cases, dunno if the downside outweighs?

So what if in years to come after we reacted, calmed down and then allowed the government and companies to have black box trackers in our vehicles for tax and maybe later automatic points and speeding fines and then we've had cameras in our cars in case someone is at fault we then see proposals to put cameras in our homes in case people brake into our homes and to see if we stick to resonable force or even to see if we are doing anything illegal like drugs or whatever.

What would you say to that? To me its the same thing. Why should we be FORCED to have GPS or cameras in our cars unless we CHOOSE to do so for our own needs. IE. travel and track footage. Its our cars not theirs and we already pay for them via Insurance and tax so why more rules just for the rite to use the roads WE pay for. I'm not having no camera in my car or black box, many of you will say this too but will bow down when they say you can't drive then when the time comes. I would rather go illegal than have that.

Only in England/uk can you have the "peoples" government getting away with about 5 kinds of tax for the same thing or invasion of privacy, whatever they want. Same old shock tactics. Release it in the papers years ahead of time and by the time they want it legislation we all calm down and agree. Nearly EVERY company already gets away with recording you every time you call for "training" purposes yet emply people to check the tapes.

They adore economic and population growth but will not build more prisions or more new roads to adapt to this growth. Public transport? What a joke. We are PUSHOVERS.

Makes you proud to be in England doesn't it?

Scarey experiences, scarey people out there.

My worst experience was nothing as dramatic as the above, but really upset me at the time for weeks after.
My experience was with a man and a woman while i was quietly driving down a dual carriageway in Perry Bar Birmingham, in my old 911.

They seemed to be enraged by the car and not me at first

'I hate your ******* car! (that was the 'lady') and then he wasn't impressed by me just stitting there.
Drove off gesticulating eventually.

Keep cool and keep safe. There are lots of knives and guns in B'ham....

I wonder if this stuff happens in New Zealand, or Canada or nice places like those?

You should have ''donned on'' your karate suit and proceeded to poke the **** in the eyes, followed by myagi chop to the bridge of the nose. How entertaining that would have been.

DJ Vinyl Ritchie.............failing that, a Glasgow kiss is very pleasurable, especially when they end up with a nose like Chris Eubank.

Reminds me of the time i had some prat in an RS Turbo overtake me on a blind bend so as he went past I flashed him, needless to say he didn't like that comes to a screaming halt and walks to wards my car I'm gonna batter you he says, I had been at work for over 24 hours i was tired and just wanted to go to bed, on my way to work the previous day I got a puncture and had a spider wrench in the front with me, I then told him if he takes one more step I would wrap it around his head, come on then he said and with that I got out of the car so fast he shat himself, he turned and run towards his car and I gave chase with the spider wrench in my hand, he just got into his car when I smashed it through the drivers window and grapped him by the neck, telling him if he didn't **** off quick i would batter him with it, needless to say RS Turbo takes off like a rocket and he disappeared into the early morning mist, I told my 2 boys about it and they knew this prat so they had a quite word with him Thank god I have calmed down with age
Cheers

which reminds me...

Never try to run over shaved headed pedestrians, even if they are in the wrong..

The bloke spotted my car about a month and a short car chase later, caught up with me down a dead end (I didn't know the area )
He was foaming at the mouth, doing the old "I'm stood on hot coals, so I gotta hop about like a pilled up raver" before twating me one through my drivers window.. (fcuked if I was getting out, as his car was full of "back up")
I dunno whether the "tap" he gave me was his release, or the fact that I just glared back at him in a "you shouldn't of done that" kinda way.....
but he legged it back to his car and screeched off, never to be seen again!

Odd..

I've had an idiot try to ram me into the central reservation on the A14 as it goes though Cambridge before. Friday afternoon, heavy traffic, I stay in the outside lane as I'm continuing up the A14/A11. Idiot 'A' as he shall be known, had bullied his way up the outside lane through per intimidation; I decided that him sitting two feet away from my back bumper wasn't going to make me cut up a bunch of people in the inside lane.

He attempts to push me even more, I ignore him, he flashes, I ignore him.. he pushes some more - I start getting just a little annoyed. In the car I was driving at the time there was about .5cm of brake pedal travel where the lights were on but didn't do anything - so tapped them. He drops back - then comes screaming back up to me being even more angry. Traffic still heavy to the point that pulling over to let him past wasn't possible safely; and the mood I was in at this point meant he was going to wait.

He decided not to wait though and attempted to move in between the two lanes of traffic! The car in the inside lane panicked (understandably) and jumped on the brakes - he cuts the poor woman up, then swerves back across to ram me, then swerves AGAIN in order to get up the sliproad - cutting up the woman for a second time AND two drivers going up the two lane slip road!!

I'm really glad that speed cameras are so much better at catching these idiots than traffic police who are encouraged to punish bad driving rather than marginal transgressions of the speed limit.

You have my sympathy lol, but to get a little off subject, U should be a writer! The story was factual and informative but my god when I was through reading I felt like I had been hit by a truck!
