From an engineering point of view that is very impressive! The car I am sure is good, but the owners are a new breed of **** hole near where I live!

Can't see why 2000bar is impossible.

Ford's later TDCi's run with 1800 to 2000 bar in the fuel rail.
Infact all third gen common rail diesels with the Bosch fuel system run with 1800+bar in the fuel system.
It's just a move for VAG to go Bosch common rail and move away from the PD setup.
