Yup 501BHP

It was built by Scooby Mania (Nottingham). Cannot recommend them enough for delivering what they spec.

I'm not planning on doing an "AndyF". I always wanted a high power daily driver (it's in the company car park now...) so it's currently under-tuned for longevity and not been stripped at all (from the inside it still feels like a standard car).

The spec I gave Scooby Mania was a 500 ish, non laggy, daily driver and occasional track days - I got exactly that. So glad I went with Scooby Mania after some of the scare stories I'd seen and heard of people spending lots of money with little result.

With a 2.5L you get more torque at the bottom end. There's a gradual spool from 3,000 to full boost at 4,000. Since there's so much grunt I don't need to change down as much as I used to. It's so smooth, the speeds you reach so quickly can be very scary so I've had to re-teach myself to take it easy - especially in winter.

As for cost, it depends on what you've got, what mods you already have and what you want to do. Scooby Mania have a test mule with a similar setup to mine pushing close to 700BHP with more to come BUT that's not a daily driver.

Best to contact them direct. Call Scooby Mania and ask for Mike - top bloke!

Lol. All turbos have lag I know that but there's a big difference between something coming on boost progressively from low down and that's what mine does.

I've seen some large power builds that have nothing and then whallop!! I really did'nt want one of those as a daily driver - I know most are built for 1/4 mile times...

You're right on the cash though - once you start it's addictive

Thanks, and it really is a flyer especially if you keep it buzzing over 4500 and on to 8000 as in the last clip.
Traction has become an issue now, so racing on slicks this year. Hope the gearbox survives.
Hoping to do a 2.33 next winter.

Don't you rate top strut braces then Graham? Take it you don't have a rear either?

What a great spec!
The best pic is the last one !

I removed the stock Sti V3 top front brace to get the Sti V8 TMIC in and never notices any difference!
I have no rear bracing at all.

Funny, I have an STi V8 TMIC and cannot find a brace to fit. In view of your spec/performance perhaps I won't bother either. Or do you think the bottom brace does the job?
However, as I have a wagon I may fit a (removable) rear brace.

I think a Cusco unit passes infront of the TMIC rather than behind like the STi one does.

An Impreza shell is pretty stiff, and i have no rubber at all in the chassis so the braces work harder especially with sticky semi-slicks and 60/50 rate springs and thick roll bars!
I have cut 1.5 seconds off a 60 sec hillclimb over last year by better AST suspension, all without the top front brace.
I do value though the Whiteline lower brace a lot.

Graham.
