I'll take our away from home result from 2-0 down aswell. still need to be picking up 3 points rather than 2 if we are going to look convincing in the play offs.

I just hope the downturn in form is because we are only playing with everyone else in the league, a play off final could be better

Hmmmmmmmmm, I DID notice that your opponents AGAIN had a man sent off and that you had a late goal, this time a penalty.........remind you of somewhere else?

I dont recall no penalties at Glandford but I do recall a dirty opposition hacking us down because they couldnt handle the players Lets see what the SN lot think to the challenges, you couldnt really see the first tackle though but my memory was an elbow from your guy AFTER he already brought taylor down

No penalties, but a late, late goal.

I've just watched that video: two appalling tackles un-punished, (one just before the Scunny goal, one just before the Scunny guy is sent off), two punished.

Guess who got punished?

OK the first one the ref gave a play on for it and booked our player after the goal went in.

Second one, cracking tackle, whipping the ball away and turning with it. Wasnt even a foul. you can tell he completely took the ball cause he sets off running in the opposite direction with it just before he is brought down himself.

Question

Hoo hoo, ANOTHER last minute penalty for Oldham. How "lucky" can you get?

BTW: apparently, the club have complained about Deadman. The result was a four hour meeting with officials from the FA and the referees association, during which they spent "some time" looking at the match video. The club won't say what the result was, but word has it that they are asking the FA to refund the £2500 fine we got for not controllong our players. What does it sound like they said, to you?

have you seen the penalty decisions? stonewall. that is not lucky at all. Yet again we battered the team from the off and desperado defending only held out for so long. What a come back though. 2 down with 4 minutes to play. Thats team spirit for not giving up.

Couldnt tell you what was said but the referee wasnt as bad as your making out IMO. Sure maybe the fine was a bit strong but at the end of the day they were 2 definate sending offs as far as Im concerned.

Anyway its all done and dusted now. Your still top and way ahead of us now so theres not much to complain about.

Yep, have to agree, a bit like the France team that won the world cup: never say never until after the final whistle. We've done it twice this season too, most notably on saturday, 2:1 down and Sharpy scores in the 90th.

I'm saying NOWT until the final whistle on May 5th

BUT: last time we were promoted to the old second division from the old third division, (north), our opponents on the last day were............Carlisle United, at home! Could be an omen.

And it's my birthday, so COME ON YOU IRON!

That would be a nice party for you. I'll be happy with Play Offs at the minute, if we can get the final at Wembley then it'd be a great day. I fancy an Oldham v Forest final and rid some of them old cup memories.

It was............that's what's going to get promotion, a team which is still fighting in the last two minutes or so

Three or four seasons ago, the local rag ran an article which pointed out that if Scunny played 80 minute games, we'd have won our league 5 points clear! We actually finished mid-table.

THAT'S how many goals we shipped in the last ten minutes

Can't understand why we let Jamie McCombe go........another of Brian Laws' inexplicable decisions

Thats the funny thing though, everyone is scoring at the death at the minute, plenty of teams really battling it out this year. Most entertaining Ive seen League 1 for a while.

I'll take 1-1! One less game to play and points advantage maintained

Please, please do it this year Brizzle...

Im gutted, if we won like we should have we would be just 2 points behind Bristol now. Looks like we could throw it away still but luckily Carlise and Swansea still have to play each other so someone will drop points there

AND THE IRON ARE..........PROMOTED!!!

10 points clear of forest in third place, with only 9 more points to play for. yeeeeeeeees!

Now we need ONE more win to make it a mathematical chance only, that Brizzle can be champions, since our goal differnce of +35 is better than theirs of +21.

Alcazar, well done, well deserved over the season. the table doesnt lie. Hope you have a good year next year in the Championship and I also hope our shower of **** joins you

What a waste, Funkii, I could have told you a defeat was on the cards, I would rather play the top teams in the run in to the end of season than the bottom ones cause Latics never play well against the bottom teams. Chesterfield at home is looking like another upset on the last day. Brighton aint won at home for 3 months and we have them away in 2 weeks so no doubt that will be Brightons next win.

Best win at Crewe and rely on others then

Tranmere 0:2 Scun thorpe United.

Well, that should do it: Champions elect. Brizzle can overtake us but only mathematically now, with our superior goal difference.

Well done the Iron.

Can't see you not, tbh, 3-1 AT Carlisle is pretty good going.

My worry now is that last year, Southend finished as champions and are coming straight back down, while Colchester are looking at the playoffs!

AND Southend hung onto Fast Freddy. Will we hang on to Billy?

Been talking to some Codheads recently, they pointed out that we'll have the same problem they did when they were in the Championship: trying to get players to sign for an unfashionable club

Talk about throwing it away, for ages we have been by far the best team in the league and now we just cant seem to score. It'll be nice to get Porter back in the team.
