There is a fundamental difference between participation in a Joint Venture with a company and owning them
I expect Shefeknackered doesn't really understand it either which is why they appear to be going **** up.

thats old hat, they were doing that when was there, and i left them 18 months ago.
he bought the company and agreed to pay back a stupid amount of money in about 5 years. there was no way it could be done,
still they've
manged to survive, which is more than can be said for Rover
when i was there there was no indication of a joint venture, it was always known that we were sole manufacturer of Bose products (auto)

A supplier then
A supplier then
Didnt say we wernt suppliers, thats what we did.
Schafencker isnt daft, by keeping the company unlisted, he control,s all of it.
his money is elsewhere,

Sorry to get back on topic, but I would be very wary of importing electrical good from the US, especially after you get clobbered ffor duty and VAT, and then it doesn't work.
And while I was looking at these i-Pod docking/speaker things (big range in John Lewis) the Bose was good, but not the best to my ears. Nor the sales guy's. Ugly bugger, too (not the sales guy ). Best one was much smaller and squarish - sorry can't remember the brand - and less than half the price.
Richard.

I think the important thing to remember is that acoustics are completely personal and subjective. There's no such thing as "the best sounding". There's only "the best sounding to me"...
Some people might think the Bose sounds crap because their hearing is on the way out. Other people might think the Bose sounds great... Because their hearing is on the way out...
Solution for other iPod-speakers prospective buyers: Listen to them for yourself and ignore what anyone else says!

As for the states its coming back via a personal source as a gift so no tax and VAT
If it doesn't work then it will be used by that source in the states

Well it arrived today
Looked at the little black box and it had 100~240 Volts
So I thought what the hell
found a twin power lead cable and plugged it in
WAS THERE SMOKE
WAS THERE A BIG BANG
NOPE
Works fine without any adapter at all
and over half the price of the UK version
