a brief update from yesterday.....almost there now.

Engine minus cams as they need reshimming

Harness fitted (should help me to stay in the seat this year...)

Finally raised the intercooler up to a sensible height!! no more bashing it!

i am trying to yes, but not the SIDC one, as im not a member anyway (i know its only 25 quid or whatever!) was going to try and do the one the day before TA kicks off on the 6th april.

Will also try and squeeze in an airfield day or similar if i can but it may be asking a little too much of the budget

I have bitten the bullet and taken a spare space for the Knockhill round ... should be fun

lol - i guess that a few couldnt do the knockhill event hence why a couple of spaces had been made available.

I prefer the non single marque stuff myself too - much better to compare yourself against different cars at this level

well at least its a slightly better base to start with this time. The impreza was brilliant when it was all working well and set up right, but sadly it didnt last long enough to do it justice. I know it would have been very competitive at silverstone etc...

However, new year, new car. Took delivery of it in July as a standard R33 GTR (bar a catback exhaust). However i have been secretly seeking out every last bargain and upgrade that i can to make it competitive. So the current Spec (which will be mapped on Feb 6th) reads like this.

Apexi Power FC L Jetro
Apexi AVCR
Z32 AFMS
700cc Injectors
Tomei Poncam 260 9.15mm In/Ex
HKS 2540 turbos
HKS Twin Suction Filters
Decat
Cat back 3.5"
Apexi Downpipes
Swirl pot feeding Twin Bosch044, with Walbro 255 in tank Lifter pump
Cusco 11 Point Cage
OS Giken Twin Plate Carbon Clutch
KSport 8 Pot 356mm front Brakes w/DS3000 pads
EBC Turbo Groove rear discs w/yellow stuff pads
19 Row Oil Cooler
D2 Adjustible Coilovers
Cusco Front and rear Upper Arms
Cusco Front Toe Rod
Cusco Rear Toe Rod
Catch Can
Brake Cylinder Stopper
265/45/17 R888s

I have just bought a spare engine to build up to a 2.7 for when the standard one has had enough. This will be built with the following spec.

Forged Pistons/Rods (as yet undecided)
Tomei Head Bolts
Tomei High flow Oil Pump
Tomei 1.2mm Headgasket
Race bearings
Baffled & enlarged Sump
Nismo Water Pump
Nismo Thermostat
Larger Rad

I am also trying to find a place that will make a front and rear diffuser to my spec.

First engine should have me running at around 580bhp/450lbft, second engine hopefully 650/520 or so....

forgot to say, the interior will of course be stripped, air con is coming out, and i have a very good deal lined up on lightened body panels, but those are having to wait until after these other bits are complete.

Neil - I know a very good carbon fabricator that has made a rear diffuser for a friend's R33 if that is any use? Or another chap that works with FRP.

oh btw - awesome spec.

Love the smooth as silk skyline sound.

Are you ditching HICAS and the other unnecessary items?
