Further progress,

Full exhaust and wastegate secured (cheers derek) & also a light flywheel (thanks colin)

I think i shall order some parallel fuel rails and then it will be off for fitting Time is going past far too quickly! and if cash allows then i will also opt for an oil cooler to mount just behind the grille.

May need to upgrade the fuel pump though, any ideas? ideally would like to remain with a single intank one, assuming thats possible? i have the common walbro at the moment, but potentially that would get maxed out. Are there any 280 in tank pumps out there that are a direct fit?

most people tend to fit bosch if going above the range of the 255 walbro and they are external pumps.

Try a bosch one, although you may have to tweak the electrics to it on a newage so it doesnt burn out.

Alan Bell has one in tank on his newage, and it easily copes with his fuel demands.

ps Mark sells them

I presume it's the Bosch 909 rather than the 044?

Interesting stuff here: 22B Bulletin Board: whats the best fuel pump setup

Been considering switching from Walbro to Bosch myself.

Andrew...

909 is smaller that 044, but draws much less current, can be used in tank, and are much cheaper, almost Walbro prices.

Thanks andrew, ive found a 909 pump for 90+vat, seems very reasonable. Just need to establish if its a direct fit or if any modification is required.

Modification is needed, and check the way the fuel pump is fed electrically. Ask Wallis or Pat to explain.

After reading that thread on 22b it seems that perhaps a single 909 would suffice.

Neil,

I hope your getting a baffled sump and decent fuel system with swirl pot, else the box may not be the only thing that goes pop on track!

Would the rear brakes not warrant some sort of upgrade? I run the Godspeed 335mm fronts with standard rears, and find the car heavily front biased for braking. There are some interesting articles on the Stoptech website in relation to the negative effect of 'unbalancing' the braking capability - making the stopping distance longer! StopTech : Balanced Brake Upgrades.
