Finshed products ...

These power steering are now even lighter than before .

There are three different types ...

CLASSIC

NEWAGE

BUGEYE .

Please read below for some fitting tips.

Classic pulleys..

These pulleys are the easiest to fit , simply remove old pulleys and replace with new one then tighten bolt

Newage pulleys

These pulleys are made to create a fine spline in the alloy pulley .

1) remove old pulley .

2) spray the shaft with some wd40 or brush the shaft with some oil

3) Place the new pulley on the shaft. It will only go half way.

4) When the pulley is on , place the nut back on and start to tighten up.

Bugeye's

The bugeye pulleys do not come of a splined shaft . They come off a plain shaft ( as shown)

You will need a pulley puller to remove the old pulley as they are pressed on .

I have made to new pulleys with a tapered bore - it will start to go on the shaft at the back of the pulley ,

You may be able to tap these pulley flush onto the shaft but it is recommened they are press on .

Check vee's line up.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

EXTRA NOTES.:

kEYWAYS in the crank pulleys have been made to the top limit , if you find any that are tight going on you will need to either tap down the key in the shaft or file and small bit of key out.
All the keyways in the shafts are never spot on the same- that is why we have made to keys to the top limit , if we go too high we risk making the keyway too big if the shaft only has a shallow keyway .

Fitting : If you are not too sure about fitting the pulleys I would recommened geting them installed by a mechanic . Some bugeye powersteering pulleys may be difficult to install

Any questions please ask

Hello !

Na , Didn't need to in the end, You have one of the powersteering pulleys without the spline in - it is the early 01bugeye that have classic p/s pulleys ..

I gonna send them to anodise tomorrow , they will get them Tuesday - If I give them a call and ask nicely hopefull they can get them back to me for Thursday - Ready to send straight out to you guys for Friday Hopefully!

On the other hand they might say they are really busy and i cant have em for 4 weeks ..

JUST KIDDING !

Yes ...

When you look at the pulley on your car it looks like it has a 8m allen key bot in the front but that actually does nothing ... you can try and turn it as hard as you like but it wont turn ... The pulley just needs to be pulled off but it will be very tight ..

I have the same .... 02bugeye , I haven't got round to fitting the p/s pulley just yet but i will most likely have it fitted in the garage round the corner..

Your pulley has a spline on the shaft ... the pulley for your car is on the far right - bugeye in the middle -classic on the left

See post #278 for your fitting instructions ..

Will weigh one tomorrow ..

I know the stock crank is 2700 grams and these are 550 grams ,

My last batch of power steering pulleys weighed around 225 ? The will be around 160 - 180 me thinks

That is a huge difference, what kind of BHP increase would you expect on a standard WRX with the complete stock size kit?

All it says is my02 newage in the posts , not bugeye .

Its not a problem ...

Here is a Dyno print out for the unorthodox racing crank pulley /

Now this is for one crank pulley only . Not including the lightweight powersteering and alternator + This pulley weighs 1400grams !!!! Not like our 550grams

An increase of 10 bhp and 7 torque!

You have got to be looking at least 15 Bhp
