I got an E30 325 with a full years MOT for 500 quid yesterday.

Not that pricey but it's not a sport.

You beat me to it on the XR4x4

The XR4i had an open diff, the US only XR4Ti had an LSD

Mazda MX5 Mk1 1.8iS MrsD's has got 125K on the clock & the diff is still as tight as a drum It's also for sale, if anyone's interested.

XR4x4 is 4WD rather than RWD, think you meant XR4i.
No I DID mean XR4x4 - they have a LSD on the back, the 2wd 3door XR4i does not....nor does the 5-door XR4i with the 2litre.

Nope, it was an option on the 944, and ony standard on the 250bhp 944 Turbo.

But the OP specified rear wheel drive, that's why the question was asked

They are rwd though.....just happen to be fwd as well

Joking aside, I thought it was relevant in this case, as ( 2nd guessing the poster's intent ) he may be looking for a fun car to learn a bit about oversteer in, which the XR4x4 will do in extremis. Either that or he perhaps wants to source a cheap LSD which could be fitted in a comparable rwd car ....such as an XR4i

Early M3 had one, and an nice ZF Box too.
Circa 1984 Starion Turbo 2ltr had it as an option, as did the Galant Turbo.
Circa 1979 Toyota Celica TC 2.0GT had one (Fitted nicely in the back of a Mk2 Escort )

We used to weld them up on the Banger racers, you need an arc welder to do it and a car will 'bunny hop' around corners on the road with it done.

I've owned my XR4x4 for 10 years Have to agree with the fun car bit It's amazing how far sideways one will go and still be recoverable, that little bit of assistance from the front axle works wonders

Oi They're not all dead yet matey Tidy ones regularly turn up on fleabay for no money, even the occasional Turbo Technics conversion still turns up

XRs tend to last longer than normal Sierras because they were built & painted properly in Germany Rather than thrown together by the lazy, strike happy English

They don't fall into the 'cheap' bracket anymore though Andy, especially now the Paddies are buying them all up for throwing at the scenery
