My insurance is up for renewal later this month so after reading all this decided to get a quote from Tesco.

they wanted £1563 for the insurance !!!!

Asked them if a tracker would reduce this (didn't tell them I've already got one fitted...that was going to be my kidney punch) and they said "it doesn't matter if you have one or not"

WHERE'S THE CONCISTANCY ??????????

Had jsut taken out a policy with Tesco's due to come into affect on the 14 Dec. While studying the small print it mentioned tesco approved tracking security device.

When I rang to query this they informed I needed to have a tracker fitted, I've cancelled the policy, however the cheeky buggers have already debited my card, so I know have to wait 5 days to get my money back.

Does anyone have any other recomendations, 31yr,Full NCB *yrs+,MY00 4 door, garaged, cambridge. Only mode is SS backbox although I might be swapping back to the OEM one since it's becoming an obstacle to insurance.

Just been on the phone to Tesco as the web wouldn't get me a quote for an 01/02 WRX - 700 quid (31, full protoected ncb, now no convictions / claims ), no increase for changing wheels (to gold for Pete's sake ) or lights and 100 quid more for ppp.

As for tracking device, not needed for me on MY01/02 as covered by cat 1/2 device hence no discount but it would be noted on file to "show you were trying to improve the security" in case of a claim. Older cars eg pre / without cat 1/2 would need tracking gubbins.

bit better than 1400 quid from cis last december and can also get 100 quid cheaper quote on existing car (pre-scoob order).
