They were 49 years old and 68 years old ............... WTF is a 68 year old going into a Fire for???????

I thought Firemen retired at 30 years old or something equally as bizarre?

Utter Stupidity!!

And what about all those who died in other jobs today???

No-one is taking anything away from the tunnel diggers or the soldiers, or whoever you are refering to. That's a childish and pedantic statement. If you want to start a thread about people in dangerous jobs, I'll come and post on it. I don't think the OP intended this thread to get dragged down to these levels.

I just think saying "what about the other people who have died" is pedantic, that's all, I'm not being argumentative with you.

Granted there are many dangerous jobs around, there are many wrongs in this world, but this thread was started about Emergency Services.

Would you say that when someone is reading a eulogy at a funeral, they can't just say it's sad so-and-so died, they have to list all the other people that died that day or from those symptons?

Or I'm sorry about your Dad having a heart attack and dropping dead, but loads of people die all the time from heart disease, get over it.....
