Bubba

I don't know you and have never met you but I do understand exactly what you and your family are feeling !

I had my keys and car (05STI) taken and recovered in February and they came back in September and did the same thing again.

Their have been 2 burglaries in 13 years on our road and both of them have been us. Thankfully the culprits have been caught and are locked up but the car was a write off.

At the end of the day what security you have on your vehicle is irrelavent if they want it, they will get it. We are thankfull that we knew nothing about each theft as these people will do whatever they have to to get your car.

I hope your families "heads" are OK and at the end of the day it is a tin box with four wheels on. The only real consideration is that no-one was physically hurt.

Unfourtunately I believe it is only a matter of time before we all hear about a tragic incident involving the theft or attempted theft of a Scooby

All the best

Pete

We had 2 thefts from our house and we talked long and hard about how to stop it ever happening again.

I'd always wanted a dog and figured it was the right time to get one. I got one from this place.

UK based dog training company specialising in the training and supply of personal protection dogs, also training dogs for obedience and a variety of other disciplines A1 K9.
'personal protection dog'

It's an extremely loyal animal that's very sociable as long as you aren't a stranger breaking into it's house or attacking it's owner in the street. Then it will put you in a world of hurt.
Best money I've ever spent and she's now part of the family.

If you'd always wanted a dog then this is the place to get one from.

I guarantee you that if you have one of these animals that short of a professional hitman not much is going to get past..........

I'm sincerely touched by all the messages of support on this thread. For myself, my head still isn't right, and won't be for a long time.

I think lot of people see me as a bit of a saddo, having an astronomical post-count, poking fun at people on here and the like, but I'm a PROPER scooby owner. I love the marque, I couldn't imagine moving onto anything else. The ownership experience for me has been utterly brilliant - up until now.

What these barstards have done is they have taken away a big part of my life. I can no longer own a scoob, and it's that which is ******* with my head most of all; that and the feeling of impotence, because precisely ****-all will get done about it.

Once again, thanks.

Bob.

Time to get some cctv set up. Who says that they won't try and steal your next motor? You must be feeling very low at the moment and I fully understand why you want to leave the Subaru brand.
I think in these cases, you have to look at how to improve the situation and not the bar stewards win.

It's a dark dark day when Bob announces that he can no longer own a Scoob!! ******* scumbags can drive a bloke like u to make a decision like that just aint right. I for one wish i could line the little scroates up take a few shots at them. Sad thing is to them they've just stolen a car, not realising how much time, effort and love had gone into creating it

Thanks.

I'm heading towards four blobs now with all this sympathetic +ve rep I've been getting...

No-one can be unhappy with four blobs, can they?

Bubba, perhaps a little time out mate but dont give Subaru up. Get some of ****ebox for now till the heat dies then if you can get some sort of cctv up. Its not that much now to get rigged up with some trick kit.

Sad day, Sad day indeed Mate

That's good advice. The identical advice that my wife has given me.

Speaking of whom, what will this do to Manda's insurance? Id meant to ask whether the newer car had a Tracker fitted too; because Im sure that the operators can be compelled to turn it on, whether the subscription is up to date or not.

No, no tracker. We're "no claims protected", but our claim ration has run out, now.

It's hard to imagine the arrogance of these *******s, they walk into someone's house, lift the keys and walk out again. They must think themselves untouchable.

What are we supposed to do, live out of sight in our own fortresses just to keep hold of what's ours? Never met you Bubba, but I feel for you.

My car passed it's SVA test today and reading this thread has sent my paranoia sky high

problem is they are untouchable - even if they get caught they will only probably get community service & a fine. i remember the thread on "road wars" posted not so long since - idiots driving the wrong way round roundabouts, ramming the following police cars, breaking every road traffic law going and for what when they finally get caught - a £120 fine & 50 hours community service.
trouble is if we retaliated like for like when threatened we would be the ones facing legal charges. i could go on & on about this subject but basically it boils down to the fact that the law is an "***"

bubba - totally gutted for you mate, keep your chin up if you can & don,t let the *******s grind you down. i live over in dewsbury & will keep a look out for your motor.

To read an entire post without you poking some serious fun is the most stark realisation of what this has one to you.

I can only reiterate (sp) the sympathies, i would feel seriously lost and violated in this situation not once, but twice

Death's too good for 'em

All the best chap
