Over the last few months we have been looking at the Euro Blast route (including 2 recces), accommodation and ferry’s to try to keep the costs of the trip realistic whilst providing a real driving challenge along with interesting stop over’s.

Our intent is to improve on the 2005 Stelvio Tour which was amazing, and we finally think we are there!

Planned route

Day 1 Monday 24th September - Calais to Interlaken, Switzerland

Day 2 Tuesday 25th September - Interlaken to Garda, Italy (Susten pass etc)

Day 3 Wednesday 26th September - Garda Italy (lay day or pass blast day)

Day 4 Thursday 27th September - Garda to kitzbuhel, Austria (Dolomites & Grossglockner etc)

Day 5 Friday 28th September - Kitzbuhel, Austria to Karlovy Vary

Day 6 Saturday 29th September - Karlovy Vary to Nurburg and evening at the Ring

Day 7 Sunday 30th September - Day at the Ring and home

Day 2 and 4 are challenging so day 3 is a lay day where you can relax on the shores of Lake Garda or blast to the Stelvio National park, Verona, Modena, Trento etc. Or if you want to drive some more passes we can do that too

Cost

Now this is the difficult bit especially with not knowing the exact numbers.

Looking at 3* plus accommodation in Interlaken, Riva Garda, Kitzbuhel, Karlovy Vary and Nurburg for 6 nights including Ferry and Route book the approximate cost is:-

£590 this price is for 2 people sharing a twin/double room and one car. Pending on Ferry cost at that time

Should 2 drivers in two cars want to share a room then costs will be £365each. Pending on Ferry cost at that time.

So over to you Chappers

Marv if you want to keep the weight down leave your wallet at home :-) and surely 400bhp off sets the extra 187kg of the Hawkeye least the Specie reduces that to 99kg difference i.e. one big bloke like me:-)

Travel wise think a couple will possibly be going out on Sunday with you and Paul.

Soon as I have info of everyone will group peeps up

I'm keen on going out Sunday too, would rather have two days on interesting roads than 1 on the autoroute!

Chaps have a feeling a few more will be going out on Sunday like you they would prefer a relaxed run rather than a Auto route grind. Im driving out friday to be with family over the weekend prior to you guys turning up after a relaxing Monday in Interlaken waiting for you guys to turn up.

Roger is making his own way from Scotland so may want to meet you en-route.

Wink Ferry times

Speed Ferries

23rd

You have a choice sort of mid day 1040 & 14:20

24th

Plan same as 2005 go for the 07:00

30th

Catch the last ferry at 20:50

I suppose we could always mix and match i.e. Sea France out speed Ferries back if times are no good.

Would like to aim to start booking Ferries first week of March

Do you think you'll be able to catch up then Marv ?

There again I am taking the panzer wagen on this one so you may be able to keep up this time, 6 litre V12, 389bhp, 420lb/ft but 2 tons

Stormy, 10:40 ferry sounds good to me
