The Cat & Fiddle is more popular than the Snake Pass in that respect. Snake Pass runs between Sheffield and Glossop and the Cat runs between Buxton and Macc.

They do use it myself included but its a bit pants now for the bike as the tarmac is cracking and there are rased sections everywhere as the ground underneath goes pearshaped!! Alrite for a car thow.

Bless them there farmers,they do inforce there own law of the land

I remember once about ten years back,me and a friend of mine where out mountain biking along some awesome bridalway's around north sheffield,over a style,accross a field,the next thing we know a farmer takes a pot shot with his 12 bore filled with rock salt followed by a "GET OFFFFFFFF MY LAND"

Quite a few bikers, its well known. But i think it was a while back, and im sure they are still not happy, so who knows when the nxt may try????

Think it (the Carbrook car park) is always full of some travelling bike shop, well it has been whenever i go past on a Sunday. Stick to the Aldi idea for me.

bump for any more wanting a nice pleasent run in the country

details

run to castleton via the snake pass inn

date-sunday the 10th of december

time-1pm depart from meadowhall retail park,please park at the far end toward aldi/pizz hut,as we have more chance of gathering there being a busy shopping day

snake pass inn-stop for a drink and a natter before heading through castleton and up man-tur past the mines

please bring warm cloth's and more importantly,Your brains as there will be an aweful lot of familie's out in castleton with there kid's to see the lights
