If you're in that part of the country you won't go far wrong buying from Alliance.
All their cars are unregistered, so you are the first and only owner. I think you'll find the likes of Motorpoint you'll be the second. Small point, but important to me..
Also Paul (MD) took a very active part in taking on IM last year when they tried to play silly buggers over EU warranties. Which, at the time, was essentially a Motorpoint customer problem, which I might add, they didn't lift a finger to help on. Eventually IM had to back down and this was a pivotal point in putting to bed the previously on going 'grey' area over EU warranties.
The under-seal issue in my case was this: The car was undersealed, it's just that IM (Subaru UK) add a little more under the wheel arches/sills etc. I had mine done at Andrew Burts (before they closed down..) and it cost me ~£80 iirc. Probably a better job than would have been done for a UK at the docks..
Finally as mentioned, the residuals of UK cars isn't exactly great at the moment is it and what you 'may' loose upon resale will be a lot less than the initial saving.
Insurance for UK spec, not a problem.
5 year tranny warranty v's 3 year UK..!
Lovely bucket STI style seats on the WRX..
The choice is yours..

I am awaiting delivery of a new euro Sti at the moment, mine is also coming from Malta. I have asked the question re underbody protection before on another forum but no-one could answer with a definate yes or no.
It would seem from the comments on here that my car will arrive with underseal, Will it be of the same type/amount as a uk car? Can someone who owns one from malta confirm this for definate as I don't want the car to be full of holes after a couple of years. I know some have already mentioned this but there are so many conflicting posts re this issue.
Thanks, Chris.
Edit; just seen post above, thanks for info.
